I can see risk, I hope low, of the same bigoted outside attention coming to the high-immigrant-population community I live in. As anywhere, there are problems. The crime rate seems very low, but there have been arrested migrants. Some children come to school for the first time not speaking English (as my own mother, who grew up speaking Yiddish, did). Most problems get addressed. And some are non-problems. If your community is dying and comes alive, rents will go up. Very low rent communities do not often have a good quality of life. More traffic, when there used to be little, is in the same category.

One of our problems is a labor shortage due to not enough immigrants, as also seems to be a problem in Springfield…

I’m not sure that Trump could have picked anyone more tone deaf than Vance. The guy is a walking gaffe. The weirdest thing so far was his statement about Tayor Swift that "I don’t think most Americans, whether they like her music, are fans of hers or not, are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who I think is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and the problems of most Americans.” I’m sure that he really does not see the irony of that nuttery.

Just watching this lying fuck on Meet The Press repeating the lie about migrants eating pets. He is saying the woman arrested in Canton for killing and eating a cat was a migrant. The moderator is not calling him out on the fact this woman is NOT an immigrant but is native born.

He’s also justifying the “dogs and cats” comment by saying migrants in Springfield are eating geese from the parks, something else that is not proven.

It is maddening this is not called out by the moderator as the lie that it is.
