Jeb Bush campaign for POTUS thread

Jeb! should spend more time on his ranch, clearing brush. Photo ops of him speaking with his workers, in Spanish, while he pulls on his manly work gloves to clear some brush. He speaks perfectly good Spanish, I’m given to understand, so he knows what they say when his back is turned, his brother still thinks “pendejo” means “beloved leader of men”.

First out loud laugh I’ve had all week. Thank you!!

Some of you may recall that I predicted Jeb! might get just this desperate: Jeb Bush says brother George may join campaign to help save candidacy: 'He is very popular' - Raw Story - Celebrating 19 Years of Independent Journalism

Since when is Dubya “embraced by conservatives”? I thought they hated him.

Since he took up painting. His intricate mastery of the brush stroke, his subtle interplay of light, substance and chiaroscuro has stunned the world. Art students worldwide gape in awe, trying to understand what sort of man could have done such a thing. A genius for proportion, discipline, yet a sly flirtation with the abstract, all of this with a certain…oh, I don’t know what…a certain je ne sais quoi?..

Ooh, discipline. Shiver.

Plus, his stuff always matches the sofa.

Lindsey Graham has now endorsed Jeb!, not that anyone was asking: http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/15/politics/lindsey-graham-jeb-bush-endorsement/index.html

Score one for the Jebber. Yee Haaah!

Then again, the Duck Dynasty dude endorsed Cruz the same day, and the DDD has a lot bigger political following than Graham does.

It’s all relative. When Dubya was, very obviously, by far the worst POTUS in all of history it was easy to dislike him. But now the GOP is stuck with a field in which all of the top four candidates are so extremist and/or stupid and/or malicious that they’d be odds-on favorites to be even worse than Dubya. :smack:

Laugh all you want at the GOP, but both the source of the problem and the victims are the American people. And with GOP-controlled states now legislating* against* the teaching of critical thinking by public schools , the deplorable ignorance figures just to get worse. :frowning:

As long as Jeb! still has boatloads of money, he won’t drop out and cannot totally be counted out. Maybe its irrational, but I’m still more afraid of him in the general than I am of Trump or Cruz, even though I could probably stomach a Jeb! presidency much more than the other two.

Let’s all just agree that each would be miserably horrible in its own unique fashion.

Happy presidencies are all alike; every miserably horrible presidency is miserably horrible in its own way.

Kudos for paraphrasing Chekhov so deftly.

Tolstoy.

Tolstoy, I think. But in any case, yes, a very nice call out to the quote.

Anna Karenina.

Ah, right you are. I remembered the wrong Russian dude.

Shit, navigates a starship and a writer too! Wow!

But he can’t take much more of it, captain.
