What is the deal with Jennifer Lopez releasing what one would assume are merely hip-hop remixes of previously released songs, and having no relation whatsoever to the originally titled song?
For instance, she releases “I’m Real”. Later, she releases a song with Ja Rule called “I’m 'eal”. Which would lead me to believe, being a reasonable human being, that it’s a hip-hop remix of the originally released “I’m Real”. But it’s not! It’s a whole new song, with new lyrics.
Similarly, she releases “Ain’t It Funny”, with a video that has the single most gorgeous human male I’ve ever seen in my life (sorry…that wasn’t really relevant :)). Now she’s just released a song called “Ain’t It Funny” with, once again, Ja Rule. And once again, it’s not even close to being a remix…it’s a whole new song. New lyrics, new melody, new rhythm.
Why does her record company do this? It’s confusing. It’s annoying. And it’s stupid.
