Just don’t get it mixed up with callipygian. Or do, who am I to judge?
I too was surprised that between the champion who was a history teacher, the history professor who is also a history of film author, and the writer that only one of the three got Final Jeopardy. Although history of the theatre would probably not be in a high school history teacher’s purview.
Yesterday the defending champ had an opportunity to put the game away at the end of Double Jeopardy by making a big wager on the Daily Double, as it was the last clue of the round. Instead, he made a very small wager and got the correct response. His meager wager ended up costing him in the end because he failed in Final Jeopardy. Maybe chemistry was not his strong category.
Again today, I got the FJ answer immediately, and figured that the contestants would nail it as well.
I was surprised to see that only one of them got the right answer. It was the defending champ, who jumped from third to first with the only correct response.
It was a good game today. All three contestants played well, and all of them had high scores going into FJ.
Nice to see some gutsy daily doubles - quite often contestants will hedge their bet by betting a medium amount, which if they get wrong will sink them anyway.
I don’t know about “Fan base” but I like her as host. Sure she hawks fake brain pills. Or did, I haven’t seen one in a while. There’s some things I don’t like about Ken (not that much though) and a LOT I didn’t about Alex.
And, considering the state of the nation, you won’t convince me that a lot of the Mayim hate isn’t because she’s a woman. I admit - I favor her just to piss off the “anti-woke” crowd.
Although I like Ken more, I like Mayim too. Internet opinion is a poor barometer of many things. Plenty of popular people pushed putrid pseudo personal payment projects presently paying pesos. Many seem to have avoided calumny.
Mira Hayward, the winner of two games last week, mentioned that her podcast, Noble Blood Tales, gave her an advantage in a FJ response, so I thought that could be an interesting podcast to listen to. It turns out that she is the daughter of a state senator from Oregon and has her BA from Harvard. She was also the first female multi-day winner this season and since Mattea Roach. The link below includes a discussion of the serendipity of her podcast and the FJ.
