Once in a while, I give in to the urge and visit a dollar store. I usually gravitate towards any videos or books and sometimes the toy section if I see a Volkswagen.
Tonight I was able to snag two books - William Shatner’s Get a Life and Orson Scott Card’s Heartfire - Tales of Alvin Maker V for a buck each and a video - The Who’s Tommy - The Amazing Journey featuring interviews with the band and those who have appeared in the various incarnations of the play.
In the video section was the usual array of badly animated cartoons and Time-Life health videos. At the bottom of the stack, appropiately enough, was a copy of Jerry Springer’s 1998 movie Ringmaster.
Way to go Jerry, you’ve finally made it.
