For whatever reason (maybe just to remind me how much I hate it) I have Jerry Springer on the telly.
[ul][li]Are the shows scripted? It sure seems like it, and the acting is poor[/li][*]Why do all of the ‘guests’ have Southern accents? [/ul]
I watch it every freaking night. If for no other reason than to remind my self that my life could always be much, much worse.
I don’t think it’s scripted, but it’s most certainly structured. They take the types that will blow up and want to fight, the producer plays whatever sound effect is needed at the time, and the stage crew pumps up the crowd.
It’s like going to the circus every night. We’re going to a taping next time we’re in Chicago.
Hubby watches it religiously. It’s hard to believe some of those people aren’t faking, especially the skinny 60-year-old guys with scruffy beards, wearing dresses.
Lately they’ve had some women guests who would be attractive if they had teeth. (And a brain, and some personality.)
Who raised those people?
Has anyone ever paid $10 for the Pay-Per-View version? I’ve been tempted, just to see if the cussing has any creativity.
I’ve seen the PPV ones (though never paid)
It’s the same thing but with all the language and tit flopping. Quite amusing.
Pay-per-view? Is that why everyone was pulling their clothes off, even members of the audience? Our local laundromats have TV feeds and I caught the show while the clothes were drying. I wondered how they got away with that in the afternoon. No censor blurring.
Please tell me it wasn’t the regular version.
There’s blurring and beeping when it’s shown on regular TV. Your laundromat should have a cover charge.

I certainly hope its scripted. I would hate to think that the type of people they have on that show are prevalent enough in the community to be able to get a fresh set of them each week. So hopefully they are normal people who are acting.
I think it has to be scripted. No one EVER has stage fright. If I walked onto the stage and everyone was booing me, I’d turn around, not scream back.
