Jesse Ventura

Christ, what is it with this guy??? I mean is he a publicity hawg or what?

According to an article in Drudge he has decided to keep his public appearance schedule secret. Well, okay, if he fears for his life that’s one thing, but this guy strikes me as doing anything and everything to keep his name in the spotlight, including grabbing a hold of the president’s coattails, if need be.

Example: His visit to Ground Zero paid for by Good Morning America in return for a one on one interview with one of the hosts? Come on!

Don’t know about y’all, but I’ve had it with this guy and I’m not even one of his constituents.

Your opinions?

Thanks

Quasi

Hello…he used to be a wrestler and an actor. Old habits die hard.

He also has an incredibly thin skin, no sense of humor and very little grasp of policy, which is why he prefers interviews with people from out of state.

I should point out that he surrounded himself with some incredibly smart people. He himself is a jackass, but the people who serve as his cabinet and advisers know what they’re doing.

Oh, he has a sense of humor alright. Just not when the humor is directed at him.

He was a Navy Seal. Let’s send him over to get Bin Laden.

I’d pay good money to see The Body put Bin Laden in a DDT.

My governor can beat up your governor.

I think it’s just hilarious that he said he wasn’t going to be granting any more interviews with the Minnesota local press when they asked him what on earth he was doing in New York. This, just a few weeks after cancelling a trade negotiation trip to China, which would have profited the state big-time, because the People of the State of Minnesota (that’s me) needed Their Governor. Oh, until the camera spotlights shifted over to New York, and off he went.

Jesse, here’s a clue: if you don’t want to be a target, go to China.

Now, why is that ringing a bell somehow…

Ventura '04!

[sub]Hey, it worked in 2000[/sub]

Did his China trip get cancelled? Wow, the US Commerce Department people will be pissed. An alumni buddy there said Jesse’s trip was the most professional set up he’s seen done.

I have more respect for him than when he ran, but that isn’t saying much.

He is a publicity hound. He is paranoid. He is often clueless. His press secretary has a full time job pulling Jesse’s foot out of his mouth.

I really don’t think he expected to win. I think if he thought there was a chance in hell, his wife would have veto’d the idea. Getting elected has appealed to his ego (which is huge), but it hasn’t been a bed of roses for him. He is much too thin skinned to make a good politician.

No, it was '98.

And, no to Jesse in '04.

Jesse is an arrogant, pompous blowhard, who flaunts his lack of intelligence like a badge of honor.

Hey, we don’t need no stinking badges!!! We need a real Gov.

He’s no policy genius, that’s for sure. Anyone remember this quote:

“People should be allowed to keep midgets as pets.”

Let me just say that as a Minnesotan and a Jesse dissenter, it’s nice to see that others outside of Minnesota are seeing this guy for what he truly is- an egomaniacal idiot.

All this time I thought everyone outside of Minnesota thought this guy was the bees knees… but no! People are actually seeing and hearing what we’ve become all to accustom to.

Kind of refreshing to see.

Oh, and this ‘I’m a target, so I’m going to keep my schedule secret’ nonsense?

Part of me believes he actually thinks he’s a target. But the practical side of me thinks that Jesse used that as an excuse to avoid the state workers on strike who were harassing the guy wherever he traveled.

In my opinion, the guy will go to extremes to avoid anything that mocks or criticizes the guy.
