Jesus, did any of you even notice I was gone?

Sure I noticed you were gone; I didn’t notice you were back, though, until I saw that post. Hope you enjoyed Pennsic! Did you fight?

A fesswise division doesn’t divide the escutcheon into dexter and sinister fields; that would be palewise. With the fesswise division, he’s only got an upper and a lower field. If I’m reading that blazon right, the whole cow would be in chief, in the azure field, and the azure feather in base, in the argent field. Ought to work.

FWIW, I’m told that the SCA’s rules about no metal-on-metal and no-color-on-color are quite unhistorical.

The SCA’s rules on heraldry in general are unhistorical, from what I’ve seen.

Q. How many heralds does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A. None, that’s metal on metal.

Ack! Heralds run amok!

And now, Stupid Herald Tricks, with your War Herald, Brennan:

“A herald, proper, pizzled, engorged, rampant!”

Astroboy - it was July 27.

screech - yes, it was a herald that told me that to my face, but she was thoroughly chastised by all 'round for doing so. She did apologize, but noted that, in period, it really would be stupid, but by SCA heraldry, it was perfectly acceptable. She then tried to ply me with a backrub (while I was sitting there like a good SCAdian coloring in other people’s device submissions), but I insisted the only way she could make amends was by getting the cute Chinese boy to do it instead. Sadly, t’was for naught. <sigh>

You were gone?

Esprix who?
