We traditionally haven’t allowed direct links to stuff like that, even with a warning. It’s cool, though – I recognize you were careful to label it for what is was, and I didn’t mean to sound like I was scolding.
This happend about 50 miles from where I live. Word is the same SWAT team that handled Columbine handled this.
Now. I think the pulled a real boner at Columbine, but I’m not going to judge them on this, I just feel real sorry for those guys, and of course everyone else.
I am dreading the part where people start pointing fingers at the cops because the girl ended up dead. Seems like nobody realizes that the only way to handle a hostage situation where the bad guy stops talking is to break in and keep the death toll as low as possible. I want to hate the guy, but anyone who would do this kind of thing is too sick to hate.

More news has come out about this. His apparent motive in the whole thing was to sexuall assault High School girls. When he took control of one of the classrooms he forced all of the male students out of the room, and reports have come out he raped the remaining female hostages. He had released all but two hostages by the time the SWAT team stormed the classroom.
My gut feeling on that is, if the guy had already released all but two I wonder if the SWAT team really should have gone in, but there’s just not enough information about what was going on between the gunman and police communication wise to say if they made the right decision.
As bad as it sounds, considering he was releasing the hostages one by one I wouldn’t be surprised if he was releasing each girl after he had raped her and no longer needed her there.
There is enough information. He had stopped communicating. That combined with his 4:00 mystery surpise fast approaching basically forced their hand. There was one survivor, that’s one more than you count on when an armed hostageer clams up.
Don’t know about full on rape. I mean he’d have to have some kind of demonic libido to go through that many girls.
