Being that I spent most of my young life in fear of hell, purgatory, and nuns with rulers, I would say that the “H” in “Jesus H. Christ” is a way to get around taking the Lord’s name in vain. It’s like saying fudge instead of you-know-what.
Just remember that Heck is where people go to when they don’t believe in Gosh.
