Jesus Horses, part II: Volcano film pulled because it might offend creationists

IMAX theaters reject film over evolution

Once again, reasonable, intelligent Southerners must hang their heads in shame as their mallet-headed brethren show off their determination to remain ignorant. Must critical thinking always be as rare in Dixie as lap dances at the church social?

Jesus wept. Sometimes I get pissed at the whole “sheeple” and “90% of people are idiots” attitudes as I tend to think that people as individuals are a pretty complex and fairly intelligent bunch even if I may not agree with their views. Then there’s times like this when I think I may be wrong about that.

I’m more pissed off that IMAX would make such a broad generalization of one part of the country.

I know there are some devout Christians who think the Earth is only 5,000 years old, but the rest of us have indoor plumbing and everything!

Isn’t this part of the same story from here?

Obviously you went to the wrong churches.

Now this is just silly. IMAX said nothing about indoor toilets, but it is quite correct about the relative power of fundamentalist churches in the South.

Generalization? Did you read the article? The local theatre owners won’t run the film. If only theatres in the south refuse to show such films, then how is the distributer’s claim “it’s only in the south” a generalization?

Indoor plumbing?!? Don’t you heathens know indoor plumbing is an abomination in the eyes of the LORD!
