Zionism sure isn’t what it used to be. The reason for that is to be sought in the right-wing Republican politics of America. We senior citizens can remember, back in our childhood, how Zionism started out as happy kibbutzniks dancing the hora to “Zum Gali Gali.” Now it’s hard to believe that the genocide of Gaza is still in the same universe as that, let alone the same country. It’s like being awoken from a dream by a punch in the face.

Evidently. Israeli Jews know that, in the real world, they have to live alongside Palestinians come what may. Americans don’t know that and don’t care. All they know is brute force.

Considering how charged the subject is, I invite you to try again with more detail about how you choose to define Zionism and your conclusions as to why American Christians are involved.
