Right, but does anyone else find that excuse rather weak? Even if it would be more proper for an EU spokesman to make a statement, would it have been improper to issue a statement in a summit declaration? Other attendees didn’t have a problem with it. All told, I think it’s a curious political decision especially in light of the attention focused on France over the last two years concerning anti-Semetic attacks there.
