Jim Morrison Is God - A Love Her Madly MMP

This post from the thread in ATMB shows that you’re not the only one who thinks so.

(Oh, and SCL, it’s either finding a way to create a lot more searches than it’s built for or searching for something so broad that it’s trying to look through lots and lots of threads/posts. The wrong search can cripple a database.)

Yay, LiLi! How exciting!!! (And tell QD to get in here so that we can assure her that she doesn’t need to worry about things that are totally out of her control.)

I’m home for an hour or so; considering what the heck to do before heading out again.

Suggestions?

GT

Really. I just posted. I can see my post on preview and I’m the last poster. But no post. Looks like a post was deleted along the way so mine is refusing to show up. Either that or the board is really really wonky.

Hopefully this will make it show up properly?

GT

I dunno, but it’s back now. Kinda makes me want to go search for like a bazillion terms and see if I “abuse” it. Then again, I have devoted this day to sloth and that would require effort, so nevermind!

Oh, SCL, that’s so sad and dumb. Their poor families. :frowning:

QD says stuff like that all the time. You see, it’s a real worry of hers, that her kids might be awful, awful genocidal tyrants. Therefore she was just checking to see if I shared that worry. Which I don’t. I am slightly more concerned about baboon armies attacking, which is to say not at all.

I’ve got to take a stack of books back today. I should pack 'em up now, and trot off to work.

I’m not worried about baboon armies attackin’ cause I know doggio has his army of cyborg lemurs in reserve for just such occasions.

It frightens me that those cyborg lemurs were a comfort to me too.

Congrats LiLi!!!

Yeah, what was with the boards earlier, I couldn’t get on either…

I’ve been so productive today, I need to pat myself on the back. Ran some errands and went with the Wife to get a small tree to plant. We (as in: I) dug a hole and planted a flowering pear tree in the front yard. We had one of these at the old house and loved the flowers, and in a few years if it makes some pears, I love them too, so all good, right.?

I have to finish some yard work now, but I’m going to wait for the Kid to drop in from work. She’s threatened to wash her car MANUALLY, and if this happens, I am going to get some pictures.

Congratulations LiLi!!!

Oh, the horseradish was good - it only works for a bit, though. Guess I just have to ride out the sinus thing. I dunno what has been up, but I’ve been unable to connect to SDMB again for most of the day today. It’s like the connection is timing out. Ah well, I’m here now.

Didn’t sleep very well last night, so am now considering a glass of wine at bed time tonight. Think that Harvey’s Bristol Creme would do the trick? That’s some good stuff! I’ve got a corned beef in the crock pot for dinner tonight, with some cabbages and N.O.T.s and probably carrots too. I think we’ve also got some fresh rolls. At least we’ll eat good tonight. Tomorrow, I will probably go to the grocery store and maybe to the Farmer’s Market - there’s a year-round one not far from me and I’ll see what they have there.

Corned beef and cabbage ::drool::

We just et some armadillo eggs aka jalapeno poppers. Supper, if we get around to it, we’re full right now, will be steak sallit. I grilled some extra steak yesterday to slice up on sallit. That’s always good. Maybe some cheese toast too. If we get around to it, that is.

I did housework this morning, including rotating the mattress, which is quite a production. I really should have gotten a double instead of a queen. Oh well, it’s comfortable, and more importantly, the cats like it.

I’m thinking of making a light sweater, but can’t decide on colors. I need two coordinating colors from here, if you want to make suggestions.

Finally, I’m so excited! I got my very own prayer rug in the mail today! Addressed to Someone Connected with This Address. How personal. I feel so loved! And it comes with a convenient checklist of things to [del]beg[/del] pray for.

Jah is the prayer rug from St. Matthew’s Church of Tulsa, OK? A gen-yoo-wine paper prayer rug? If so, you can amuse yourself and friends for hours with it. See, a friend of mine got one of those. Sometimes when there’s a bunch of us together at his house he gets it out and tries to use it to get everybody to give him all their money and such. He puts on quite a production.

Gasp! But swampy, you’re only supposed to hold on to the prayer rug for one night! God sees. Then it must go out of this house, to be passed on to another family. Yep, St Matthew’s Churches. I wonder if anyone ever gets the returned prayer rugs, like it says on the envelope? “Two homes are about to blessed…Then it must go to another dear friend.” Yours first!

I have spent most of this afternoon/evening washing stuff from the cat room with a side trip to get some more gooshy fud for Gwen. Publix had very liitle to choose from so back to PetCo or PetSmart tomorrow. I’m not paying $.99 for a 2.8oz can of Sheba when I can get a 6oz can of high-quality stuff for the same price or less. I don’t mind spending money on her but I do want to get my money’s worth!

Other than that I have had a very uneventful day. Boring, even. I am bored.

No boredom allowed!!! Wanna come clean my house or do my laundry? I’m afraid that’s going to go without major progress this weekend.

It is really weird to go to church in an auditorium on a Saturday night. I had several friends who were saying “good morning” to people. But we had fun and the music was nice. Went out to dinner afterwards (there was food after mass, but it was little appetizery things and then dessert).

And tomorrow I’m going in to work, so it’ll probably feel like Monday, except I’ll be pretty much the only one there.

We had a big old thunderstorm move through here just as I was getting home. I was watching the lightning on my way home - spectacular (and distant - I’m a fraidy cat around lightning). I stayed in my car for a few extra minutes because it was pouring when I pulled into the driveway.

So I’m going off to beddie-bye…

Happy Saturday night, one and all!

GT

Nothing much happened today (they let me have Saturday off…this week anyway), but the dog job is going well. I washed and dried my first customer yesterday. I ended up with her because she had rolled in something horrible, and apparently Nick, a more experienced if much younger coworker, can’t handle that sort of thing well. He’s puked a couple of times when washing dogs with poo on them. So I washed Megan. Flat-coated retrievers have a lot of hair! But she was very good about the bath and not too bad about getting dried.

The only problem, and it isn’t exactly a problem, is that I’m definitely going to have to look for something else as well because I’m not going to get many hours out of this job. But I think it’s going to be fun, especially once I get better at it.

Congrats LiLi!!! Yay!!!

I had a whole post written yesterday, and then it wouldn’t post… so… well, all kinds of good thoughts to those who need them and random comments on a bunch of posts.

MagicEyes, if you’re around, would you mind if I give someone your Tibetan curry potatoes recipe? A friend’s sister is putting together a cook book for her (friend’s not sister’s) bridal shower, and the first recipe that came to mind was that one.

I’m not feeling so hot today. It started off just headachy, but it became a stomach thing late this afternoon. I’ve been running to the bathroom for a couple hours. :frowning: Yuck!

So here I am, more than 24 hours later, and I’m just about exactly where I was yersterday. Actually, if anything, I’m further behind. Because after numerous problems (and I must confess, the one that cost me the most time was my own fault) I was utterly unable to save my old Windows installation. That means I have to completely reinstall Windows from scratch. That means the next several weeks will be spent reinstalling and re-setting up hundreds of apps, games, codecs, utilities, and so on. Fortunately I can save the settings of the major ones – my E-Mail client, Firefox, and other such apps I can salvage their settings and configurations and databases from the old drive, so I won’t really lose anything there. Any program that stores its main settings in the registry (stupid, stupid, stupid thing to do!) will have to be set up from scratch again though. And I’ll have to go and pimp everything out again, which was a major pain in the ass and constitutes an entire night unto itself.

I’m ghosting all but my main boot drive as we speak, 'cos it’s a lot faster than copying all the files manually. Once that is done, tomorrow I’ll have to begin the arduous task of reinstalling everything again.

A note to Seagate: If this new drive screws up like the old one did, I’m coming down there and giving the CEO the ability to breathe through his anus.

Home from work. One more day till I see the doc about my back. I came home to some fun. Neighbor A was having a party. Neighbor B was royally pissed off and was screaming something about killing that <expletive>, his white girlfriend, and their kids. Jahdra, does crazy neighbor have relatives on the East Coast?

Mork, I thought the whole point of ghosting your drive was to avoid the hassle?

No violence yet, so I put the lemurs on Defcon 3.

Night all!

Happy Belated Birthday, Meli!

Lili, YaY! Congratulations!

gt, I used to love going to church on Saturday nights. Somehow the people seem different then.

Mork, sorry about the hard drive problem. Hope you can fix it soon.

rosie, I hope you’re doing well in your recovery even if you’re not here to read this.
