Jim Morrison Is God - A Love Her Madly MMP

There ain’t no way I can get caught up, so well wishes and hugs and chocolate and booze to whomever needs them…

What a weekend we had!
:: cajun accent :: Oooh-wee!
Yesterday we went to The Texas Crawfish Festival. It was a blast. Sat around drinking beer, suckin’ dem haids, and dancing to zydeco music. We stayed from about 1:00 pm until 7-ish, and started heading back. Then Mr Rebo realized he had lost his phone! We went back and looked everywhere and kept calling but no dice. He was bummed.

But - we went on and stopped at a little neighborhood bar. They played some classic rock which was great fun. Then we decided we were pooped, so we went on to the house and ate some gumbo that I made Friday night.

We both woke up early (with excellent hangovers, BTW - we’re getting to old for this stuff!) and Tom decided he was gonna drive back out to the fairgrounds (about an hour away!) and look for his phone before the Festival cranked up again at noon. I went back to bed until 7:30 or so. So he hangs around and waits for people to show up, and finally gives up and comes home.

In the meantime, I went to the grocery store and just when I walked in, the house phone rings. Mr Rebo gets it, and it’s the guy working the last beer stand we went to! He’s got the phone! He had taken it with him last night, and was just getting back to the Festival. So we drove up there again, and took Lucy. We gave Alphonso the Beer Man a $20 with heaps of thanks and gratitude, and bought a couple of medicinal beers and a couple of Philly cheesesteaks that weren’t too bad.

All in all, an interesting experience! It’s nice to know that there are still good people in the world. (Of course there’s the Cool Kids, but they’re extra special!)

So we swung by the fancy-dancy gourmet grocery, and bought some $20 a pound scallops and shrimp - and we’ll be feasting shortly.

Well, I’ve got my clay slab all prepped for Tuesday. I need to remember to put it in the car tomorrow eveing. Tonight, I need a shower and I have to decide what I’m going to wear tomorrow and see if it needs to be ironed. We’ll watch the Sopranos, then crash.

Yep, one wild night ahead…

But I do think someone stole my weekend.

Chinese food eaten, thirty minutes waited, dip in pool done. Fun had by all.

Rebo yay for Alphonso the beer man! It won’t mean a lot to him but now there’s all these people who think he’s jake.

I’m sleepy. I thought Chinese food was supposed to make you hungry an hour later. Maybe the combo of Chinese food and pool makes one sleepy. I should apply for a grant and study this over the next several months. I’m sure important medical type stuff could be learned from it. Ok, actually, I think lyin’ around the pool eatin’ Chinese food from now til October would be fun. And scientific.

Well, things are starting to take shape. I’ve installed the essentials, some stuff I needed immediately, some of my pimping material (Object Desktop/ObjectDock). Still a long way to go to get it to the point I had it at before all this crap happened, but at least it’s starting to look like progress is being made. I even went out today and bought a new USB hub because the SMC one I was using is a piece of crap. The new one works much better.

Yeah, Doggy, Ghosting is supposed to let you make a mirror image of a drive. Problem is, that’s exactly what it did, and it turns out the Windows installation on the drive I ghosted was irreparable. Try as I might, no repair install nor Winternals battery could save it. It wasn’t even pining for the fjords; it was just an ex-Windows. (Okay, bad geek joke of the day.)

So much for the weekend off. And speaking of off, I must be, to install more stuff.

I’m home. I’ve been loafing, but really need to get some work done. I’m really tired of the stuff, but I need to get it out of my way.

Someone inspire me!!! Or harass. Or otherwise motivate.

gt, get to work. Right now! Stop the whining, it’s not going to get the work done. If you had spent the amount of time working that you’ve spent surfing the Dope, you’d be half done already. Don’t make that face at me! Do you want your face to freeze like that? If your face freezes like that don’t come crying to me.

The vacuum is fixed and will be ready for me to finish tomorrow what I started today. I can’t finish tonight because Mr. SCL worked today (up at 4:30) and has to work another 12 hour shift tomorrow, so I can’t make noise.

Any news on BionicRosie? Hope the recovery is going well!

Who’s up for tomorrow?

I think it’s me, at least I am working on something while peeking in here every once in a while.

I’m up for tomorrow! About my New Orleans trip. I don’t want to wait too long or I’ll forget all those important details that I know you all are just dying to hear!

Actually, Kai, if you really want tomorrow, I can take next week. But I’ve been expecting all week that I’d be up late tonight writing a truly scintillating, photo-filled MMP. Your choice.

We had a blast taking the Idiots to the beach late this afternoon. To my complete delight, I was able to walk normally all the way there, including down and back up the several flights of steps leading down from the embankment (there’s a sloping path, but it’s about 1/2 a mile long), and my knee wasn’t even sore at all the entire time! So that’s REAL progress – I believe this was my very first ever non-painful trip to the dog beach since we moved here.

And the Idiots had a lovely swim, and came home and ate supper, and Papa Tigs started chopping up some lovely lunchmeat ends he’d picked up from the Amish market – the Idiots get a few pieces of meat with their kibble – and then stopped to fix our dinner, and forgot to put the chopped up meat away safely. So, to no one’s surprise, when I walked into the kitchen with dirty dishes after we ate, there was Rusty, paws up on the counter, working his way through the meat. Papa Tigs thinks he managed to put away at least a pound. Stoopid (but happy) dog!

Now it’s back to work for me. Or MMP-writing, whichever comes first.

Work was boring, except for co-worker #1 Mother-Henning me (“Don’t lift that! Here, I’ll do that! Have you eaten recently? Have a snack!”), and co-worker #2, who’s wife is pregnant and due three months before me, hugging me repeatedly. He’s not a huggy guy. I’m flattered.

Anyone heard from rosie?

gotti, how’s Mom?

You go ahead MamaTigs, and I’ll do next week. That will give me time to dig up photos for my story!

Okay, will do! Back to writing!

I know it’s Monday but this is a Sunday-related post so I’m putting it on here. I would have done it yesterday but it was jammies day and therefore using 'pooters wasn’t allowed.

Anyway, it was a greatly lazy day! As specified, it was jammies only so no getting dressed properly all day. Plenty of lazing around catching up on the stuff I’d got on the TiVO, bit of reading, bit of cat-fussing, bit of cooking and a lot of idling around. Perfect!

‘im indoors played World of Soddin’ Warcraft all day and half the night. He eventually emerged from his room about 9pm to sit downstairs with me for a while. Well, maybe half an hour, after he’d cooked a meal. Such is the state of our relationship. WoSW has a lot to answer for.
