Jim Morrison Is God - A Love Her Madly MMP

Wow, we’ve been busy today! Glad to hear all’s well with our rosie.

Heff, I heard someone talk about those paradoxical commandments fairly recently and it’s going to drive me nuts that I can’t remember where. I blame you. (But I’ll keep typing anyway.)

You can stop by my house and mow as well, swampy. Also, I need to have some mulch spread out. And eventually there will be a few annuals to plant.

Congratulations, conejo blanco, on the dog washing job. Sounds like a fun place. Borders would be fun, too. You seem less like a lurker than others I could name (:D) because MamaT keeps us updated on stuff about you. How was the visit to your grandmother’s? Did you get her whipped into shape?

Sorry about your troubles, kai. Hope you can muddle through again. Hugs in the meantime. Don’t worry about the length of your OP. You can always post it in installments.

Good thoughts and prayers for the nephew, Nava. Translation degree sounds good. I’m sure technical translation is something that could be very profitable since most translators started life out as liberal arts majors with not much techie background.

Your adventures in computer construction frighten me, Mork.

I’d like a large lump of time as well, Tel. (Hee, that rhymed.) Revenue is a very important word.

Sorry about the never-mind work, MBG. You’re saving the document for when you actually need it, right?

Hi, Taters! Glad today was less stressful. I miss seeing you post more frequently in here…

My mom’s best friend was having back surgery today. I’m hoping things went well…

Went and helped spread mulch at church, then went to dinner. Had a nice salad.

Now I’m sleepy. Maybe I’ll finally get to bed early. (Yeah, I know I said that yesterday, too.)

Hugs to all…

GT

Big thanks to Drae for providing us with a Rosie update!! All good healing vibes being sent her way.

Big hugs {{{{{KAI}}}}} all the way to Kodiak for Kaiwik; I hope you all can work things out, Kai. And so sad that the stress has taken a toll on you; praying that you’ll feel better from that soon.

We’ve had temps in the 80s the past few days - it’s like we’ve moved from Winter to Summer! Not that I’m complaining, mind you - although the warmth is a bit overwhelming; guess I’m not quite ready for that warm just yet.

I got some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream the other day (thank God they make that stuff in pints!!!); it’s called “Half-Baked,” and is a mix of chocolate & vanilla ice cream with chunks of brownie and chocolate chip cookie dough mixed in. I was hardpressed to find much vanilla ice cream though. It was like chocolate overload - and this coming from a -confirmed- chocoholic!! It was most delicious, however it’s so very rich that I could only take a bit of it at a time. Thankfully I couldn’t eat it all in one session.

They were Gigabyte boards, which I understand from reviews are considered quite good, but after that experience I have no plans to ever touch another one regardless of the reviews.

I had one Gigabyte board. No complaints – it wasn’t the greatest, but it didn’t give me any problems. I’ve always preferred Asus myself, though my current board is a bit flaky even besides the other hardware issues I’ve had. I think it may be a buggy BIOS though, but that’s a confusing matter all on its own. I have all the latest BIOS versions for my board (A8N32 Premium), but they’re all 512K files. After dumping my BIOS to back it up before flashing I found my own is 1 meg, and I can’t flash the 512K files because they don’t match the size of my existing BIOS. On the other hand, the A8N32 Deluxe boards have 1 meg BIOS files, and I can flash my board with them but due to slightly different configurations, that brings up all sorts of issues on its own.

Heff, I was asking that hugs be saved because one of my cats is going downhill. She’s still holding on though, and eating gushy fud.

Oh, I changed my signature so you wouldn’t feel so…divided.

No photos of my red nose, Heff – it was bad enough having to look at it every time I looked in a mirror, I wasn’t about to record it for posterity. I still feel utterly foolish for letting myself get a burn like that; and I can’t even blame it on not knowing how strong the sun is in that part of the world. I just flaked out.

I’m glad your kitty is hanging on and enjoying her gushy fud, SCL. Lots of hugs her way from us and from our feline overlord, Emily!

I’m glad Rosie is doing well. I hope they’re giving her the goood drugs right now! She has my sympathies on the immediate physical therapy; but having done it, I can now say with certainty, alas, that it really does work. Even though it’s decidedly not fun at the time.

You can come take care of our lawn, too, Swampy – although it couldn’t handle your riding mower; we developed a rather nasty mole problem last summer, and they appear to be back. Our landlord doesn’t seem to care too much, so Papa Tigs just takes the weedwhacker to the front yard since the ground is too soft thanks to the moles to even take a push mower. The back is firmer, probably from Isaac pounding it down in his daily chase-the-konb exercise sessions. But he was supposed to mow this weekend, and then yesterday, and then today, and now it’s supposed to rain tomorrow for the next three days. I suspect it’ll be next weekend and the weeds will be knee high in the back before he gets to it!

Goodnight, all!

it’s been awqhile since I’ve done an oblitgary drunken post, ahsnt’ it?

Mork, post proof or retract.

gt, you might be thinking of the Ten Commandments. Yeah, that’s it. btw, I can recite those from memory. I know all the big reasons God might smite one. I’m having to memorize those for my church small group. Did I mention I’m NOT a Christian? But if anyone wants to know what those are, let me know. . .they’re at the tip of my tongue.

SCL, glad the kitty is doing ok. Thanks for changing your sig., although I kinda liked the old one also. I liked giving you a hard time about it, too. What does your new sig. mean? Is it rhetorical. . .because that’s how I felt when I made a mistake on the job. Doesn’t everyone?
**
Mamatigs**, awww. . .no pics? I was looking forward to flinching or at least a giggle. What a rip-off! :stuck_out_tongue:

Haze, depends on what you mean by “awqhile”. I think I remember one from last week, but yeah, it’s been a few days.

Heff, that is a quote from a NHL goalie. When the puck goes in the net a red light goes off, and thousands of people either cheer (if their team scored) or groan (if the opposing team scored). I personally never boo anyone. No, db, not even the refs, although I have on occasion asked them if they were watching the same game I was watching. Or if they needed directions to Lenscrafters. I consider booing to be rude and unsportsmanlike.

Where’s the smilie with the halo?

OK, I can understand why in the kind of projects where I work, the last few days (almost) always include some printing tests.

But does any of you guys know why during those same days all the printers are locked? You’d think “printing tests” are a novelty!

Off to chase someone who thinks he know someone who may know of an open printer but who for some reason doesn’t want to tell me who the second someone is… hey, man, got that printer yet?

Morning all, it’s another fine and warm one over here.

Drae - thanks for the update on Rosie, tell her the cool kid vibes are still heading her way!

Kai - big hugs to you, and vibes for your marriage. It’s a long time to have been together and a lot to have been through, I really hope you manage to work things out.

Swampy, whilst I don’t need to know about the appreciatin’ that’s been going on, I do have to ask the obligatory question about whether it was a nekkid cobbler…

SCL, there are always hugs to spare for a sick kitty - I think I missed the details but I hope your pussentat pulls through.

Meli, it’s a bit short notice but I’m sure we can get a party organised for Friday. Jelly and ice cream, anyone?

Nothing exciting going on here today, I have a team meeting this afternoon which promises to be entertaining. One of our team is going on maternity leave early in May but as yet nothing’s been done about covering her job (apart from the fact that a bunch of stuff has come my way as my line manager seems to think I have nothing else to fill my day).

Tonight, I’m off with 'im indoors to see Spiritualized on their acoustic tour. Should be fun, and of course beerverages will be consumed. No poorly head for me in the morning though, not like our Haze!

Morning all, another day another dollar. It’s work all day, and watch hockey all night.

Yay for Roborosie! I can’t wait to hear from her.

{{{{kai}}}}, hang in there.

palebunny, yay for the new job. Maggie Wonderbeagle would like a massage and a butt skritch.

SCL, The entire RBC Center boos the guy who broke one of our player’s neck last year. Also, there is nothing quite like 18.869 people chanting “Ref you suck!” Glad Gwen is hangign in and enjoying gooshy food.

GOOD MORNING HAZE

Nava, good luck on the translation degree. “My hovercraft is full of eels”

Good mornin’ y’all! BooFae any cobbler related nekkidness ensued after the cobbler was baked and consumed.

The power went off for a while last night. No known reason, but it did for bout half an hour. Fortunately I was not on puter when it happened but I do have a bazillion clocks that needed to be reset when it came back on. I hate that.

Nava hope everything’s goin’ ok with the nephew. I’m keepin’ him in my thoughts and prayers. Sorry I forgot to mention it yesterday.

I have the lawn sprinklers goin’ in the front yard right now. Soon, I’ll turn the back yard ones on. The grass is kinda crunchy from lack of rain. Right now, I’m in frugal mode and don’t want to water a lot, but the poor yard needs some water bad. We’re promised chances of rain tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. It needs to happen.

Ok, off to turn the back sprinklers on, caffienate some more and begin the daily job hunt. Yee and Haa!

ETA: HOW YA FEELIN’ THIS MORNIN’ HAZE???

¿Tengo un hovercraft lleno de anguilas?

Are you sure they’re not gulas, criado canino? At the price of real eel, that would need the UN budget.

Yay on Rosie’s new bionic knee, I hope things work out kai, I’m watching you in the werewolf thread SCL, what is a dog beach conejo blanco?

Arf, arf, arf. The Uni hasn’t responded yet but the people who own the apartment I wanted have. Looks like I’ll be in France and chasing France Telecom for my new 'net access soon  I did some accounting and right now I can’t afford to take that much time off for the master’s, so I’ve labeled one of my piggybanks “Master.” I have a bank account in Spain, which I’m not going to close because well, I need it and it’s the one my mortgage gets paid from; one in Switzerland which I need because it’s where I’ll be getting paid for the next months (they were paying me in E, now in CHF). And now I need one in France so I can pay my rent by cheque :stuck_out_tongue: and be sued if I burn down the house. I should get one in Andorra for geographic completion.

My Hovercraft is Full of Eels?

DON’T SHOUT AT POOR HAZE, GUYS! KEEP IT DOWN!
I’m glad rosie’s doing well. I’m sure she’ll develop bionic superpowers very soon. Get the doctors to watch for it- floating, bending steel bars, telepathy. The usual.
I took a very nice cake to work yesterday. It’s almost all gone. It was sort a sponge cake with some yogurt in the batter, so it was moist, very buttery, and sandwiched with jam. I think I’ll make another, since I’ve still got lots of yogurt.

Sorry, tashii, I forgot to answer your question! Fritatta is kind of a catch-all cheap dish for me. I think my favourite is sauteed (or chopped leftover) potatoes and zuchinni with cheese, but I put all sorts of stuff in. Your combo sounds good. Ham or pork is very nice, if it’s chopped up. Cheese, salsa, and onion and/or potato is delicious.

I generally eat it with a bottle of Sriracha sitting beside my plate. Actually, I eat a great many things with Sraracha.

Got a call from Rosie last night (which I missed because I left my cell phone in the car)–she’s in her own room now, and doing well. She said to tell you that she’s already on the CPM machine, although I don’t know what that is. It’s probably too early for me to call her back right now, but I’ll have a better update later.

And now, to go get ready for another job interview.

Morning haze!!!

It’s raining. And it’s 49 degrees Amureeekun here.

Can it just stay summer all the time?

Anyway, a quickie hello, I have an interesting/weird/sad story to tell later, but it’s going to wait til I have time.

Off to caffeinate.

yaaawn

Mornin’, happy hump day, etc. My sleep was interrupted last night when the power went off in my area. I knew this immediately because the fan we keep on while our apartment complex awaits the activation of the central air conditioning turned off. Oddly, I can sleep through noises and things when I’m really tired, but when there is a sudden absence of the constant white noise I fell asleep to, I wake up instantly. So it was last night, for roughly 20 minutes, and being that it was rather warm in the apartment, it made trying to sleep rather uncomfortable, so I didn’t get back to it 'til the power was restored. It’s also a good thing that the alarm clocks I use are all part of battery-powered mobile devices, so I was still able to make it to work on time.

'Puter is still working and booting without issue, further solidifying my belief that the hard drive has been at fault all this time. I can’t wait to get the new drive this weekend, 'cos I’m going slightly mad with this temporary Windows installation, as nothing is where it should be nor works like I’m used to.

Hank: [sub]Pssst. Hey. You might want to put in some earplugs. There’s shouting hereabouts.[/sub]

Heff:

Nummy. I’m going to have to try this out once I have access to my pans that can go in the oven. (My mom’s stuff has plastic as part of the handles. Poo.)

Not a whole lot going on in my life right now. Just a series of working, waiting, and slowly packing all my books and things.

Mork: I can’t sleep well (or sometimes at all) when it’s too hot in the room. That would’ve definitely kept me awake until the power went back on if I had been able to sleep at all.

Good to hear that Rosie is doing well.
