ETA: First post on page three! WOOHOO!
Hugs and good thoughts to **kai ** - I hope you work things out.
Calling **Drae ** - what’s the news on rosie??
**palebunny ** - congrats! Too bad you don’t live closer - I have 2 doggies that need some serious grooming. On the other hand, bummer - I was hoping to hire you to house-and-critter-sit while we go on vacation this summer and again this fall. You shoulda checked with me first, dagnabbit! Where are your loyalties!!! Sheesh, the young generation…
My new bedspread and window coverings are here already. I ordered them Saturday night on line and they were on the porch when I came home. JC Penney just impressed me. I tossed the box it all came in on the floor, and Brandy has taken it as her cave - cracks me up!!
In a few minutes, I’m going to run the vacuum in here - our carpet is disgusting. I’ve also got to take the bedroom door down to the basement - it’s been sitting in the hall since Saturday. And I need to change for class - I’ll be going early tonight since I’ve only got 4 sessions to finish my final project. Or 5? Anyway, semester is almost over, and I’ve got stuff to do, so I’m heading in early to do it.
All you computer problem people, please keep the gremlins to yourselves. I got an email from my baby this morning - her computer died, mostly. **FCD ** talked her thru starting it in the SAFE mode, so she was able to recover her project for Thursday. I’m hoping one of her geeky friends can figure it out for her. Otherwise, we’ll have to pay for getting it fixed since she’s broke. Always something.
And on that note, I’m off to do chores. Maybe. We shall see…
I’ll more than likely be having leftover steak and some veggies.
What’s good in a frittata? Does onions, green peppers, cheese, and little bits of pork sound good? I may have to experiment with this in a couple of weeks when I’m going to be even more poor than I made myself last weekend. Eggs are a cheap and tasty form of protein, and I’m sure I could use to make something that’s breakfast-y that’s not “just” breakfast-y.
Clearly you are just doing it wrong. For the true left over PBJ experience you need to age your sandwiches in oak or pine barrels for three to five years (make sure it is out of the sunlight and in a dry room!). This time frame allows the peanut oil and the jelly to mix together and give the whole sandwich, not just the area between the slices of bread, that delicious flavor.
Ok, I am now officially oogied. Everybody knows apple or hickory wood is best for aging.
caucasian cuniculus (look it up!) congrats on becoming a canine hair stylist/shampoo girl!
Peach cobbler is in the oven. The house smells soooooo gooooooood!!! I’m hungry!
Ooh, peach cobbler! Send me some through the CD drive, okay, Swampy?
I have no idea what supper tonight will be; all I know is I don’t have to fix it, and when I don’t have to fix it, I eat what’s put in front of me. I’m easy that way.
And now back to work. Lucky me.
I am so jealous palebunny. I wish I could make a living that way. Maybe when I retire from the business world.
kai, long is good! We love long. Hope everything works out.
I found out Arizona Ice Tea makes a killer diet peach tea. Not as good as a peach cobbler but acceptable.
I think I’ll see how it goes washing before I start a mobile grooming business, but down the road, who knows?
AND I just got a call for an interview at Borders tomorrow! I must be doing something right!
I have a new favorite word, after today’s project.
OH, do tell!
Supper was nummy. I’m too full for cobbler right now but that’s ok. We can have some after a while. I can nuke heapin’ helpin’ bowlsful and put some niller ice cream on top. MMMMMMMMMMM…
Oh, I forgot to say, FCM, I have no idea whether I could help you out, but I’d be more than happy to if I can swing it. Once I know what’s going on in my own life (among other things, if these jobs work out, I think I might be able to move out on my own again, yay!) we can talk.
Hugs to all who need them!
Been busy the last couple days, haven’t had a chance to read anything, but …
The Rosie Update
I just heard from a friend of Rosie’s, who gave me call because she’s currently phoneless. The surgery went well, and she’s already started with the physical therapy. Unfortunately, an administrative/spatial relations problem at the hospital kept her in Recovery until last night until they could find her a bed in the ICU, where they send patients just out of Recovery. As of right now, she’s still in the ICU, because they can’t find a regular bed for her. I’m told she’s bored as hell, but doing fine. I’ll let you know when I hear more.
Back to your regularly scheduled MMP.
Thanks Drae. Yay, rosie’s surgery went well! Tell her us cool kids are rejoicing!
Revenue, swampy. It’s one of the more sexy accounting words, I think.
Great to hear that rosie’s surgery went well!
You don’t mean like revenooers do you Tel? Cause the only thing wors’n than a revenooer is a hoss thief. You consortin’ with revenooers? :dubious:
Peach cobbler has been eaten. It was declared dee-li-cious.
The following is just for taxi…
“Appreciation” to commence shortly.
Mamatigs, I’ve been meaning to say this for the last couple days, but got sidetracked. You are taking pictures of the red nose, right? Cause we’re gonna want to check those out. How will we know if you’re telling the truth otherwise?
Nava, glad you’re doing better. Belated hugs for yesterday.
Mork, your last few posts have been so far over my head that I didn’t even hear the whoosh! as it passed by. I think I can just barely understand the version you gave to SCL.
SCL, was it you that I was saving up the hug for? I thought you had said something ominous about saving a hug for you. I hope everything turned out and that I can give the hug away now.
MBG, waving back. . . sorry for the frustration. Your post reminded me of a book I picked up at the library called “Anyway” by Kent Keith. Here are some of the Paradoxical Commandments.
But since I didn’t read the book yet, I don’t know why we should do the paradoxical thing. You’ll have to wait until I read the book (if I get to it) to see if there’s any sense in it. Or maybe the website says something about it. But anyway, I just thought I’d share. Helpful, huh?
whiterabbit, Congrats! . . . please send some of those positive vibes in this direction.
kai, sorry about the relationship. You talked about Seattle in your post. Have you been thinking of moving?
Ellen, hilarious story. You must be fun to work with. I thought I saw a horsie and a bunny in Mork’s post also.
Drae, thanks for the news about rosie. Yay for** rosie** doing well after the operation!
I suppose it’s enough to say, “Hard drive go boom. Wallet cry. Mindfield smash!”
I’ll try and wave next time I fly over your head, though.
Okay, so dinner is on. Broccoli and cheddar-stuffed chicken fillets with boiled broccoli and my cheddar sauce on the side. Yeah, it’s a cheesy, broccoliy… broccoliye … broccolee-ee … ye … :dubious: … fart bushy dinner.
Got my hard drive on reserve at the 'puter store. Gonna pick it up on Friday and hopefully ghost it later that night. With any luck I’ll be back in business for Saturday.
Is it a cucumber or a banana?
Oops, wrong thread. Forget I said anything. <furtively glancing around>
Good evening everyone.
Big hugs to Kai. I hope you and your husband can work it out.
Congrats to those who’ve gotten jobs and congrats to Mindy for not tossing the PC out of a high window and smashing it to tiny little bits. That’s what I would have done, even if I had the expertise you have in this area.
Tonight’s chop-chop will be leftover spiral ham and some taters and gravy, with a salad.
Work was slightly better today.
Swampy, you wanna come take care of my lawn? It’ll take you about 15 minutes, tops, to mow it. However, the back lawn is nothing but patches of dandelions, interspersed with lawn and bare patches. If you could dig all the weeds out, lay some topsoil down and reseed it, that’d be great too! I’ll make you some kind of salmon or whatever you want.
That’s all for my exciting day.
Hugs to all. I still miss being able to post during the day so I can actually keep up.
Heff - Zucchini. And a couple of kumquats.
What? I din’ say anything.
Taters - Oh, there were certainly moments of inhuman restraint against the overwhelming urge to go all Pulp Fiction on it. Once I put the nail gun away and removed the ice pick from my prefrontal cortex though, I was okay. [sub]twitch[/sub]
Alistair - Good gravy. 12 motherboards? That’s just nasty. Are we talking cheap boards like Chaintech, or were these good name brand things?
