I somehow got the idea OP’s treasures were toaster prepared. I’ve heard of people putting frozen HB patties in there but I’m skeptical they come out well and a stuffed one would probably ruin the toaster.
If you have a Dollar Tree with a freezer section you might find some there. My partner buys JD sandwiches at his local Dollar Tree.
Nope, they come with an aluminized cardboard crisping sleeve, like a Hot Pocket.

They dropped the sleeves a year ago.

And I always thought the sleeve was what justified them putting “Pocket” in the name…
I always figured it referred to the filling being inside a crust “pocket.” The sleeves were for crispness when microwaving, but I never thought they were very effective in that regard; honestly, I don’t notice much of a difference without them.
I read this before going to the store today. I was curious and in the right place, so I looked for them. Nope. Not in my Kroger. Plenty of Jimmy Dean, but no hash browns.
There should be a new stage of grief called “finding out about something you never knew existed but would have changed your life after it is discontinued”, I imagine its the new first step.
I have a box of Jimmy Dean Sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits that I can’t eat because I’ve started a diet. I have to find a way to ease those 400+ calorie treats into my plan so that I can get rid of them.
I’ve never had them, and the OP doesn’t mention what they’re stuffed with, but there are a number of online recipes for “stuffed hash browns”, most of which seem to include cheese as an ingredient.
Sausage, ham, and bacon along with a blend of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. The kind you can make from a recipe on the internet don’t lend themselves to hand-held consumption.
Yeah. There’s somethings nothing home-made will replicate.

Update: I’ve kept looking for them at Winco, with no luck, but today, I checked the internet to see if they’re still discontinued, with a view to maybe calling Tyson again to beg them to bring them back. On a wild hair, I googled them and selected “shopping.” Wonder of wonders, they were on Amazon, with delivery available between 5:00 and 10:00 PM.
So I rolled the dice and ordered six boxes, then went to bed (I work 10:30 pm to 7:00 am). When I woke up, the order showed as out for delivery, so at 9:00, I went down to the street to smoke a cigarette and hope for him to show. Just as I finished the smoke, the driver came up with my stuffed hash browns! I tipped him five bucks and brought the loot up to my apartment to put it in my freezer, then went to work.
A happy ending! So looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!
I’ve been stocking up with them since I saw this thread, but our local grocery (Hannaford) has them and have been restocking them.
