Jin Wicked is advertising on Something Positive!

Our very own Jin Wicked is buying space on my favorite webcomic of all time, Something Positive.

Neat!

Pretty Cool Miller. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

It’s great, but I’d advise you to ask a mod to close this thread. I pointed out the same thing a while back and it just degenerated into ugliness.

See here for more details.

It doesn’t have to degenerate. People can learn from past mistakes.

I noticed that earlier, Miller, and I too thought it was pretty neat. He also links to Scandal Sheet, another doper comic. I asked rkmilholland if he was a doper, just because I thought it was an unusual coincidenc, but he said “Nope, I most certainly am not.”

It’s still a great webcomic. I can’t figure out how I just found it a couple weeks ago, considering how many other comics I’ve read over the years. There’s nothing better than reading through more than a year of a comic over a weekend.

I think that’s actually one of the larger drawbacks of pay sites like Modern Tales, Serializer, and Girlamatic. They allow you to read the most recent comic for free, but charge for the archive. I’d be much more likely to pay for the recent comic if I’d seen an archive of good stuff than to pay for the archive after seeing one good strip. A micropayment scheme based on that might be more successful than Joey Manley’s current schemes.

I’m certainly not unwilling to pay for webcomics or webcomic related merch, so I’m not just being idealistic. I own the cover art for the Absurd Notions book, have signed copies of all four Angry Flower books, own original art from Drew Weing plus all his minicomics (and the same for Kean), recently ordered the It’s Walky book, micropaid for Scott McCloud comics, and so on. I also used to have a subscription to Modern Tales and Serializer, but found that I never used it and got really pissed at the automatic withdrawls from my PayPal account.
