JJ Abrams and... Star Trek???

Yeah so Trek Today is reporting that JJ Abrams (From that tv show, Lost) is going to Co-Write, Direct and Co-Produce the next Star Trek movie. It will be set in the Academy and is slated for release in 2008.

Is anyone else scratching their heads? I mean, Lost can be considered SciFi, but I just don’t see Abrams in the Star Trek universe…

It’s cliche, but it has to be said. ANYONE will be better than Berman and Braga. Anyone. Hell, three monkeys on crack would be better than Berman and Braga.
