Joan Cusak "all I want is some pie"

Snookie is wondering where the hell he saw this (Joan Cusak saying “all I want is some pie” she may or may not have added, ‘is that so wrong?’ . I did a whole bunch of searches and came up with references to the scene but not where it was from, (one of the searches even suggested that the scene is the origin of the internet ‘when come back, bring pie’ stuff).

anyone know?

By any chance, could it have been from the movie In & Out ? One of the subplots was that Joan Cusack’s character had dieted off something like 60 pounds.

I concur that it’s likely from In & Out but there’s nothing that could induce me to watch that crapfest again to confirm.

I have never seen In & Out -but I know exactly what you are referring to. Unfortunately I do not recall where I saw it either. I could have sworn it was in a commercial.

I’m pretty sure it’s in a great scene that stood out in this otherwise mundane movie. Cusack is in this great poofy white wedding dress, outside in the middle of the street at night. And she just melts down, eventually collapsing into the folds of the dress as she utters the lines in question. At the end, she resembles some bizzarre wedding anenome folding in upon itself.

In my mind I see her almost crying, and being somewhat apologetic about wanting the pie.

Weird.

And drunk.

Here is the scene from In & Out. It doesn’t ring any bells for me. Maybe it is right after the car bumps her?

I don’t know how I would know the phrase without seeing the film; unless I was channel flipping and caught it somehow.

I’d hit it.

And bring pie.

yea, I can kinda picture her, drunk, apologetic and all, saying that line, and in a big pouffy wedding dress would fit, I’ve seen the movie, but don’t remember that that was the line in it, and, agree w/ Otto that I’m not sure I’d want to watch it again to see if it is.

thanks so far, and certainly if anyone has a clear rememberance of it, feel free to add it in. thanks again.

(edited to add belated thanks)

I just wanna’ have some pie.

8 years of searching, that’s dedication.

If you want good results, you can’t rush things.

She has a slightly comparable “…and nobody cared about what DEBBIE wanted” scene near the end of Addams Family Values.
She played Debbie.

That’s a line from the movie, though, not the actual movie. If anyone still cares  I’m guessing it’s from Toys with Robin Williams, solely based on process-of-elimination. I can see the scene in my mind, have never seen In-and-Out, but did see Toys within the last three years.

No, in Toys all her character ate was white bread and mayonnaise sandwiches spiced with vitamin pills.

I watched In and Out again last night. It’s not a terrible movie - a bit cringe-inducing like Pillow Talk, but of it’s time. She did not mention pie.

I definitely remember it from the ‘Dinner and a Movie’ skit linked above, not from one of her actual movies.
