Joan of Arcadia 10/8, or Joan starts her own Eden

After being fooled by last week’s promos, I will go solely off the description from the CBS website.

There is no mention of reviewing Kevin’s accident in preparation for the lawsuit, so we shall see how that fits in.

See you here at 9:01pm Eastern!

Nothing earth-shaking, rather more on the silly side, but you need a bit of whimsey now and again. I guess I kinda liked it.

Liked the bit about Luke fondling Grace’s ankles in gym class. I hoped Grace might grab Luke at the end and give him a big public smooch, but it didn’t happen. Yet.

I liked it. I even could tolerate Judith. The Luke & Glynnis thingwith the ankles was classic. I liked that Adam wasn’t going to be a doormat for Jane - I think sometimes he’s too willing to do whatever it takes with her. Does anyone else sense sparks between Kevin and Sr. Lily? It’s about time that Kevin become an adult. To just let his parents handle the whole lawsuit thing was stepping back into the role of child, rather than adult. Another good ep.

Rats, I haven’t gotten to watch my tape yet…Wasn’t home. I’ll be back tomorrow, late to the party.

I taped it, and was going to watch it at 10:00 (We were out, and then I watched my taped Without A Trace from Thursday), but I only made it about halfway through before dozing off. Damn, I’m old.

I’m going to go watch it now. Be back later!

I think this episode was about inclusion, including Judith in the group (I hope they rub off on her) and including Kevin in his own lawsuit.

This one got back to the core of what Joan is about, God tells her to do something (Go to AP Physics) and then it ripples from there. Good ripples.

It looks like Luke’s backbone is continuing to stiffen with Grace. Good. She can play the hardass, but she’s got a softer side, and it’s nice to see once in a while.

I missed bits and pieces because I got home late from work…are the undercover narcotics detectives and the chief trying to blame each other for the drug trafficking?

Helen reliving Kevin’s accident, with Andrew and his father walking right by her in the hospital without even looking at her…that was gut-wrenching.

Good solid episode.

The script was much looser this time, but that isn’t necessarily bad. As already pointed out, it was a refreshing (but hopefully brief) change of pace. I liked the three new Gods. And I like the ex-nun. I liked her reactions to Kevin, and I think so did he.

I think so. That was actually left a little bit ambiguous (which is a good thing). Even Will himself was left wondering, “Exactly who are we investigating here?”.

Note to wardrobe: Please do not dress Amber Tamblyn in those sort of cowboy/babydoll dresses and boots. They are muy unattractive.
Good ep. I liked Jeans God, the tearful scene between mother and son in the lawyer’s office, and digging deeper into events of the past like Kevin’s accident.
I’m also glad they’ve made Christopher Marquette and Becky Wahlstrom regulars on the show; they deserve it. I’d like to see more of Adam’s dad and Grace’s parents.
