Job interview help - Teacher's Assistant questions?

My oldest sister has a job interview for a teaching assistant job at the Deaf school (she is Deaf). This is such an excellent opportunity for her, but she has very little job interview experience (she has kept the same job for 14 years).
I ahve lots of interview experience/training, but am not sure what sort of industry specific questions they may ask.

Any suggestions?

Let’s not call these suggestions. Let’s call them guesses.

Experience with “crowd control”–how do you get a room filled with students paying attention to you.

How do you handle the one bratty kid who just won’t behave.

Can you be flexible?

Can you take over for the teacher on a moment’s notice if neccessary? (I don’t assume that a Teacher’s Assistant would be asked to serve as a substitute teacher, but I can imagine a crisis where the regular teacher needs to leave the room, and the assistant better be able to take control).

Do you have any experience teaching?

Experience with temper tantrums?

ideas for what to do when half the class has finished reading the assignment, and the other half is still stuck on page one?

Patience with those who are slow to learn, or don’t want to do homework?

Experience grading assignments?

Experience using a copier?

Experience generally making a teacher’s life easier?

Given that you mention the Deaf school and Deaf interviewee, she should expect to be able to answer questions about Deaf culture, expectations, that sort of thing.

That looked like a great list to me. As you’re probably aware from your experience with interviewing, a lot of places use behavioral interviews, the ones with a lot of questions like "Tell me about a time when you … " Based on that, it would be good for your sister to be able to tell stories about time she did those things successfully. Even if they don’t ask for a story, answering a question like “Do you have experience with crowd control?” with a story about you successfully controlling a crowd is very effective.
