Job leads in the Atlanta area? (Marietta/Smyrna area preferred)

Hey everyone! I’m moving yet again and need to find a job. I got my last (AWESOME!) job from a lead here on the Dope, so I figured I’d give it another shot.

Ideal job: some sort of web/graphic design position. Problem is most expect you to know javascript/jQuery, which I don’t know (though I’m learning online, diligently, every day). Anyway, That’s my ideal.

Next best thing: Administrative assistant type work. I am good in an office, organizing, administrating, assisting, etc. This is the type of work my last job was and I have good recommendation letters from that. My duties included things like payroll, inventory, etc.

If all else fails: pretty much anything, if it pays the bills.

So anyone know of any jobs?

From what i’ve heard, Atlanta should be an excellent region for web development; if it’s still good in a couple years, I might try to get to that area. Then again, not knowing JavaScript/jQuery is a little iffy. Is your main focus design instead of code, I take it? They don’t really give the field good job titles from one place to the next…a web designer might be expected to know the ins-and-outs of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop or they might be expected to be hardcore with HTML and CSS. Or both.

You might wanna dig through the job board here: http://jobs.smashingmagazine.com/
(heck, Smashing Magazine is a great reference for web stuff in general, if you’re not familiar with them)

Does this help any?

Apparently not.

There are a ton of jobs all over at Nestle, creative, IT, administrative. I know it sounds weird but big companies like this have so many needs to fill, and some of them provide training for employees.

With your background with Administrative Assistant work I’m sure you can find something and maybe parlay that into the web design opening I saw posted. Check out their listing of Consumer Products Jobs and see if something fits.
