Job opportunity fell through 8(

I have been unemployed since mid September and my best opportunity yet has now become not likely.

My potential boss (a former co-worker from the job before last) wants to hire me, but the powers that be don’t want to pay for someone with experience (actually thier target salary is low even for entry level). At this point I’m willing to take a pay cut, but 66% of my former salary is not going to cut it.

One of my problems is that I want to stay in the area, which limits my options. Although I’m single and thus don’t have to move a family it’s still a house to sell (and therefore clean). Plus I like it here (great flying club, good biking, hiking, and kayaking places, etc)

Now I’ll have to think about how much longer I can hold on (till the end of June for sure, but how much longer?)

Lat time I lost a job I had a new one in <6 weeks. This long term unemployment sucks.

I hate it when job opportunities feel through. You should file a sexual harrassment suit.

I could have sworn I changed that. I’ll ask a mod to fix it.

Have you considered temping while you look for the good gig?

What do you do/are looking for?

There’s a number of people here from MN, and may have suggestions, or places to try.

Software development. (most of my experience has been with MFC, which hardly anyone uses anyomre)

I’m just barely in MN, I used to work in LaCrosse (and before that Onalaska). I’d probably move to the Fox Valley or Madison before going to the twin cities.
(I have applied in Winona)
