John McCain doesn't know shit about Iraq.
I certainly find this to be highly questionable. I think that seperate Islamic factions that both claim the West as a common enemy can, and in fact have, set aside their differences enough to glory in shedding infidel blood.

Which is why we claim there is a civil war based on religion going on in Iraq.
Unless Bush,Cheney and McCain are just flat lying.

Gonzo, Bush would never lie to you. He never did coke either, and his slut of a daughter is a perfect saint.
You’ve got serious trust issues.

2/3 of Americans want us out of Iraq. Cheney ,Bush,Lieberman and McCain say march on, we don’t care what the people think. Who the fuck do they work for?
Privatizing the war had the same impact that privatizing prisons has had. If there is profit in it ,it will grow and fight to survive. T he corporations will pressure and bribe the politicians to continue the money making policies. Money equals power .
They are working for the military/industrial complex .in a distinct conflict with the will of the people. They should be tarred and feathered.

An aside: When Dubya was drumming up support for the war, he said that if we didn’t act then and there, the problem would be left for future administrations.

Just like when he said he would never engage in nation building, he has had a certain, if oblique, sense of the future.

McCain jumped on that boat, and gets to ride it.

I think he knows on a deeper level that Iran and Al Qaeda aren’t connected, but when he’s speaking in public, he doesn’t have access to that knowledge. It’s all about drawing out maximum emotional effect by connecting two hot topics that seem to go together. If he can find a way to force the official Republican Talking Points, he will, reality be damned.

The statesman speaks: “You’ve got peanut butter on my chocolate.”

I find McCain strangely stupid-for a guy who lost a substantial part of his life to another idiotic adventure (Vietnam)! If anything, he ought to do a fundamental cost-benefit analysis on iraq. I’ll bet the numbers don’t look too good-and imagine just waht the BILL will be for reconstructing IRAQ! Probably in the trillions of $! (most of the contracts will go to Chinese and companies controlled by the bin Laden family :smack: )
No, it’s not. It’s scare-mongering. We were attacked on our own soil two or three* times by al Qaeda before September 11. It became clear at least 66 years ago that people can suddenly launch an attack on us. The only new thing about September 11 was the success al Qaeda had…
And also just luck. There were several times when they should have been caught.
No, nobody had ever attacked us here in our homeland before.
Embassies and ships at port don’t count.
OK, the original “blind sheik” attack counts, but was DISCOUNTED by too many because dude was, well, blind and all.
I don’t know why it matters that he was blind. Besides, he was working with others.

And also there was the guy who was going to blow up LAX, but got caught at the border.
