I will. I know full well how the emotions of 1st time parents get pulled in many different directions.
I had no way of knowing my advice caused such trouble.
With the exception of the [, I think your pitting of me is well-meaning, valiant and done with good intentions. Just to clarify, I wasn’t ignoring the thread…I wasn’t around. (I usually post from work and rarely read the board on weekends). If you felt an immediate response from me was due, you perhaps could have emailed me and asked for an explanation in the original IMHO thread.
inkleberry, I apologize. If my unorthodox advice icaused you distress in any way, I’m truly sorry. I hope & pray all works out OK for you all
I read the OP and probably the first 1/2 dozen posts, got distracted and posted. Mea Culpa. The only reason I posted to the thread was because I went through a very similar incident with my 2nd daughter a little over 7 years ago. I heard her 5 week old’s screams as they gave her a spinal tap (because they don’t allow parents in the room). I held her hand as they squeezed her between a cold table and some machine with radioactive isotopes. A week later, after the 3 of us were released from the hospital, the specialists and team of Dr.s still had no idea what caused her original symptoms and wrote it off as a virus. That experience went through my head as I did the math:
My unprofessional non-mediacl specialist hunch was: 10 waking hours/22 diapers = Too much liquid (formula) and too many diaper checks/changes. I posted that assuming all parents know if something doesn’t seem right, call the pediatrician - or get thee to an Emergency room.
Truth be told, I rarely post to ‘advice treads’ - Even less so [url=http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=230451]following this train wreck](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=295744lame title[/url). But, the way I see it, some of the advice found in that old pitting holds true today. In general terms (not necessarilly to this thread) I’d seriously recommend any and all message board advice seekers heed the following disclaimer:

Hope everyone has a happy, healthy & prosperous new year.
Ohferchrissake, Quint, stop snivelling. You’re emoting, not thinking, and that does nothing for the Fight Against Ignorance. Honestly, you sound…“as if your head were going to come to a point in the next thirteen seconds.”
I admire anyone who recognizes when they need to apologize and does so. JohnBckWLD, you’re obviously a good guy, as your many defenders would indicate. That should probably wrap up the Lamest. Pitting. Ever.
