Johnny Rotten on the cover of High Times

This might fare better in GQ, but, God, this is such a stupid question. . .
I’m reading Twelve Days on the Road: The Sex Pistols in America, and it is mentioned that once, sometime during the Sex Pistols’ American tour, Johnny Rotten was on the cover of High Times. I’ve tried looking at the back issues at http://www.hightimes.com but there’s no Johnny on the cover from 1976-1979. The closet I’ve come is a Feb. '77 issue with Blondie on the cover, and a June '78 issue with an article about the Pistols in America.
Since I’m really creepy and in love with Johnny Rotten, I seriously, hardcore want to own this issue. But does it exist? Was it really an issue? Why can’t I find it? Can anyone help me here?

Can’t really help with any info, but you might want to try emailing High Times and asking them about it.

By the way, did you catch Johnny on Judge Judy a couple months ago?

You can see it in all its glory here.

Oh my God, Purd. I’ll love you forever!!! You just totally made my night. Hell, you probably made the next month or so of my life. I just registered on eBay and bid on it. I’m so excited. Everyone, pray that I win this auction.
Thank you so much!!!

Hmmm–upon rereading this, I suddenly realize why I haven’t been on a date in four years.

It feels good to be loved forever

I hope you win the auction, TYG

Hello, Purd, just a note to say I am now the proud and estatic owner of High Times issue number 26, with Johnny Rotten looking particularly fantastic and blue-eyed on the cover. Thanks again.

Woohoo!

Congrats on your purchase TYG
