Joker gets 11 Oscar Nominations. I still say it sucked.

I guess I’ll bump this rather than start a new thread…

I was kind of nervous going into it because everyone was saying just how messed up it was but after watching it yesterday I was like “If you guys think that was messed up you must not have seen a lot of movies, I mean Seven and Taxi Driver were WAY more messed up that that”

If you liked the score you should check out the composer, Hildur Guðnadóttir. She also composed the music for HBO’s Chernobyl, has worked with Throbbing Gristle, Sunn O))), and Animal Collective, and has her own stuff.

So - to be honest, this movie never really ‘interested’ me - I simply wasn’t interested in what appeared to be a joker origin story, and one that looked designed to make the char somewhat ‘sympathetic’.

I was stuck on an overnight flight - it was one on of the options to watch - and I realize the screen format and cheap earbuds would not give it the ‘full experience’ of a large screen and decent sound.

That being said - even as a captive audience - I couldn’t get more than 15 minutes before I killed it and went on to find something else - I just don’t find this one worth watching.

It just seemed a sort of Taxi Driver redux to me honestly, it was a decent film but it’s the kind of movie you really only watch one time, once you’ve seen it I imagine most people won’t want to watch it over and over again.
