I hope it wasn’t the ones I posted that did it. I’ve posted them on the SDMB before, and as far as I know they were not deleted.
(That was probably before the renewed attempt to up the tone of the boards though.)
This just goes to show you what a complete ninny I can be. I never even opened that thread, because I truly thought “jokes you can’t tell” would be about people like me - people who tell a joke, and upon getting blank stares in return, have to backtrack and say things like, “Oh – I forgot to tell this part: she had only one leg!”
My objective was to get jokes like I was talking about: ones that are just too dumb or too long to explain. Brown and sticky and very obscure puns, that sort of thing, not racist/sexist/whateverist junk.
My apologies for letting it become what it did.
Actually the point of the thread was how the OP would sometimes come up with odd, innocuous, humorous things that he was loath to share, since most other people don’t share his sense of humor, and he would have to explain them, garnering only blank stares in return. The racist and bigoted jokes came in only due to a single sentence at the end of the post. It was actually a good discussion, otherwise.
