Jon Lovitz, Stand Up Comedy - any recommendations? Yes, or No?

As for Jon Lovitz as an actor, I have enjoyed some of his work. I haven’t seen a lot of him, but I haven’t not liked his acting roles. I remember liking him in A League of Their Own, and Rat Race (hilarious Adolf road trip scene, there). He has also been in Dickie Roberts and City Slickers II which I’ve seen but I don’t remember him from those. As for the rest of his movies, I don’t think I’ve seen them.

Anyway he’ll be touring through here in a few weeks and I’m considering going, and I’m wondering if anyone here has an opinion of his stand up work? Did you like it, or know anyone who did? Is his act vulgar? I’m no prude but my wife is a ‘nice’ girl, and a comedy act that relies on too much vulgarity might turn her off, and I wouldn’t want that to be a date night for us. No what I mean? Fuckin’-A, yeah.

Thanks,
Bullitt

Here is a one minute sample of his stand-up-a lot of swearing near the end.
He should stick to doing his characters.

No. He was ok as the Emperor Todd Spengo in Mom and Dad Save the World.

I saw him to a show in Vegas. He was a lot more racial/sexual than I thought he would be.

I would say he is going to be too blue for your nice wifey. And even if he’s cleaned up a little since I saw him…I would still not risk it

Thanks for those, folks.

I found this on YouTube, where he calls Obama an effing axehole: Jon Lovitz Calls Obama a "Fucking Asshole" - YouTube

In Czarcasm’s post above, Lovitz drops F bombs on Trump. Agree with you, he should stick to his characters.

Based on this I’ll pass on seeing him. Thanks again.

Bring the wife to see Bob Saget. He was so nice on Full House.

LMAO

Yeah, Jon Lovitz makes me wish that Michael Dukakis would mount a political comeback.
