Up until her murder, Boulder was a pretty quiet place. I could see it, although I wouldn’t allow it myself.
She was found dead on Dec. 26.
Latest from AP: Thai officials are now backtracking on some of the statements allegedly made by Karr. That he walked her home from school or picked her up at school apparently came from a documentary the police officers had seen. Also, Karr’s alleged statement that he drugged her was a misunderstanding (language barrier) by Thai police.
All of this, of course, is subject to change at any moment.
Thanks for the clarification, Sunrazor. My bad. I swore the recent image I’d seen of JonBenet’s headstone had said Dec. 25, but every news source I can find says she was found dead the day after Christmas.

Interesting. I wonder if he was saying he “drug” her (as in “dragged across the floor”) and the Thai interrogator got the meaning mixed up.
Q: regarding the paedophile mind. He was quoted as saying that he and JB were “lovers”. Do these types really think this way, that the sick love they have for a kid is reciprocated? IF he had sex with her, in his mind, does he actually think that she is wanting it to happen?
From everything I’ve ever read or seen, this is not atypical. A lot of pedophiles do indeed believe that they are “in love” with their victims and may even believe that this “love” is reciprocated.
This is a really strange story, strange enough that I’m willing to watch various goofballs on CNN debate about it for more than an hour last night. Really, the only impression I’ve come away with so far is that this Karr fellow dresses a whole lot like Forrest Gump and that his brother seems inordinately good at speaking to the press. So far I’m betting that this guy is full of it and had nothing do to with the murder.
So say he is lying through his teeth, what happens to him then?
Depends on if he lies to the police/DA. In general it is no crime to lie to the press (or a Law Professor) or, probably, to Thai auhthorities. If he confesses to the Boulder PD and DA and it turns out to be false, he can do time for hindering the Investigation (like Scooter Libby is facing).

This “sorta” implies he did his time and disappeared - Did he? or was he still wanted and still has to face those charges?
This idea icks me out more than the actual sex involved.
Was it one of Michael Tracey’s “documentaries?” Like the one where he claimed that without a doubt, John Steven Gigax had killed JonBenet? Gigax was later found to be completely innocent, of course.
Tracey is a nutjob too, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Karr contacted Tracey because of their mutual fascination with this crime, and Tracey led him from there. Tracey had lots of early access to information, apparently.

Forgot to sy this earlier- you are correct about the headstone- it says December 25. I guess that’s the official date of death, probably based on the coroner’s report.
Oh! Huh. So I was right in what I remembered, but wrong in what I presumed (that she was found dead the same day she died).
