Isn’t ED normally a working position? A nonprofit’s president will often be little more than a figurehead, but executive directors are meant to be real, day-to-day professional managers/lobbyists/fundraisers. My own experience is with smaller nonprofits, but the EDs have always been very much non-figureheads. Haven’t always been good at their jobs, but they certainly did them.

The handwriting’s on the wall as far as where things are headed, but since today’s rulings did not make a sweeping redefinition of marriage, this will intensify the efforts of groups like the FRC. They may experience an increase in financial support, but lobbying Congress is only going to get more difficult from here on in.

I’m trying not to judge the Duggar parents on how they handled this situation, cuz honestly I don’t know what I would have done. On one hand, at least they didn’t totally ignore it. But if the family friend hadn’t gotten involved, I don’t think they would have done more than give Josh a stern talking-to.
I had always expected dirt to come out about that family…but nothing that bad! The comments on their Facebook page are insane…

There were rumors for years about Josh doing something “inappropriate” as a teenager, but nobody knew the details or that his sisters were the victims. According to the police report, the Duggars only told church elders and dealt with it by sending Josh to a church camp. That’s not rehabilitation IMO. Supposedly the police only got involved after someone from the Oprah Winfrey show tipped them off.
Wonder if TLC will cancel the show.
I missed the edit window; It get’s worse the cop fucking Jim Bob reported told to was a “family friend” who not neglected to report it to DHS, but is now severing a 56 year sentence for child pornography. Josh has resigned from the FRC. It’ll be interesting to see how the show addresses this since it’s gotten to big to ignore.
We can only hope so. I would be so happy not to see an asshole Duggar breeder with a stupid grin at me when I’m trying to pay for my groceries. They suck. I’m not willing to look this up, because it’s way too close for comfort, but my concern is that Josh and Anna are married long enough to have daughters only slightly younger than the sisters (and their friend) he molested as a teen.
I truly hope someone is watching out for those girls, and any nieces and remaining sisters he has that around that age.
