Josh Groban Appreciation Thread

Well, I searched the the board, and the only mention that I can find of him is in the recent “Saddest Songs” thread. I can’t let this situation stand!

My mother bought his CD about a week ago on the recommendation of a friend, and I just got a copy today because… OH MY GOD, his voice is absolutely amazing. I am not exaggerating in the least.

He’s got the most marvelous baritone, and if you just heard it you definitely wouldn’t guess that he’s only 20 years old. And did I mention that he’s hot? Dreamy dark brown eyes, curly dark brown hair. mmmm…

I’d have to say that my favorite song so far on his (debut) CD is alla luce del sole. I can listen to it over and over and I’m still amazed everytime when his voice crescendos during the song. It’s also cool because many of the songs are in Italian (not his first language - not that you’d be able to tell). He has an Italian singing coach and many of his songs have been arranged by David Foster.

Here’s his website. There he said that:

And that’s the best thing of all, he’ll only improve from here on. My grin is about THIS BIG right now.
None of my friends have heard of him (I’m 23 so that’s not exactly a shocker), except one person who remembers him from an Ally McBeal espidode:

Here’s a link to his CD on Amazon.

I first heard of Josh Groban just before Mother’s Day. I lost my mom five years ago, and I miss her every day. This song touched my heart, and I went looking for the lyric, after which I went to his website and listened to the whole CD.

He has a rich, beautiful voice…I literally couldn’t believe how young he is. I got the CD and love love LOVE it! He is going to be a major talent…well, he already is, but it doesn’t look like he is going to be limited to one musical arena…he can do it all. Or at least everything except maybe the ones I don’t listen to anyway. (Heavy metal and so forth.) I’m not crazy about opera either, but he is clearly capable of doing that, too. And however you feel about opera, and I am not a fan, you have to admit that it takes a MAJOR voice to pull off the extremes in range that opera requires…and he HAS that range.

He is AWESOME!

Here is the lyric to the song I fell in love with. Should you wish to listen to it, and I recommend that you do, you can do so by clicking on the link that Waenara so thoughtfully provided. You can also listen to the rest of his marvelous CD, and if you aren’t inspired to buy it…well, you just don’t have the same taste in music as I do. Which is okay, but …you’re WRONG!

Yes, I appreciate him. And it is nice to meet another fan!
