Joss Whedon returns to Fox with a new show... and Eliza Dushku!

I’d be surprised if it doesn’t get canceled, especially given the Fox Network’s infamous track record, but anything Joss Whedon gets involved with is worth watching (or reading, for that matter).

The garlic-sunlight-and-cross network. Damn. But Yay!
Please hire Alexis Denisof for this, and maybe he and Eliza can stab a junkie girl on this show too ohpleaseohplease

Yay!

I’ll try to remain cautiously optimistic about this. It is, after all, going to be on Fox. Why Joss keeps dealing with them is one of life’s great mysteries.

Why do so many people keep going back to their emotionally abusive parents? For the money. And possibly because he’s developed a strange Mommie Dearest complex.

Probably the latter.

Oh my god. Are you me? That was literally my first thought when I read the article. I even have a compelling list of reasons why Alexis could be on the show:

  1. Alexis and Joss are still friends.
  2. Alexis is currently not working. I’m thinking he’s just playing with the dogs and pleasuring his wife–which is great for him, but not really pressing engagements.
  3. Alexis is freaking hot and needs to be on my TV again.
  4. Joss loves to work with his favorite actors, and Alexis is definitely a favorite.

From the sounds of the new show it appears that he’s ripped off “Joe 90”.

His time spent in England as a kid obviously involved watching lots of telly.

I may give it a shot. It can’t be any worse than Bionic Woman and I’ve seen several episodes of that.

I thought Weddon said after the Firefly debacle that he’d never work with Fox again. Surely he’s a big enough hitter now to be able to get work on other networks?

Is he no longer friends with some of the actors he’s worked with?
This is the first I’ve heard about this matter.

I’m wondering wat a “7 episode commitment” means exactly.

Brian

Knowing Fox, probably that the complete series will fit on 2 DVDs with 2 left over for unaired episodes.

Notably, Sarah Michelle Gellar.

And from what I understand, he’s under first-rights contract with Fox through 2009. Meaning any show he wants to do on TV, Fox gets first look at. Only if they decide they don’t want it can he shop it around to other networks.

So exciting! I absolutely will watch all three episodes Fox will air (out of order, of course) before cancelling it.

Heh. Ah, the calm joy of diminished expectations :D.

Work on television show or pleasure Alyson Hannigan?

Work on television show or pleasure Alyson Hannigan?

Work on television show or pleasure Alyson Hannigan?

Yeah, that’s a tough decision. NOT!

Don’t get me started about that - I watched Firefly on DVD so fortunately saw it as intended, but I later read about the whole stupidity around Fox wanting the second episode to be aired first (even though it would make A LOT MORE SENSE to show the pilot first, idiots).

Let’s compromise, and have a TV show about Alexis Denisof pleasuring Alyson Hannigan.

Wow, that is like the greatest idea for a show EVER!

I concur. Hell, I’d be happy with a Christmas special…
