Jpeg photo size reduction software recs?

I have a bunch of professional photos from an event we did last weekend. The file sizes are 5megs each. I have hundreds of photos. I need to get each one reduced so I can post all of them for people to download (so around 100K each max). Any recommendation on how to do this quickly?

I’m not sure if it has the capability of doing multiple image at a time reduction, but as far as free photo editing software goes Irfanview is great.

Download Google’s very powerful (and reasonably intuitive) Picasa. It’s mainly a photo library program, but it also has several image manipulation tools. You get the photo looking how you want it in Picasa - color balance, cropping, contrast, etc. - while the program preserves the original, then export the edited result in whatever size you want. You can also use it to hook up to online albums with Picasaweb, and email the edited pictures from within the program.

Sorry, I should have mentioned, Picasa supports multiple image export in the new size - you don’t have to manipulate all the images individually, just select the ones you want to resize and put them in the “tray”, then export the tray. The “Export picture to folder…” dialog in the file menu is “intelligent”, in that it allows you to give pixel size of the longest edge. This means you don’t have to mess around with distinguishing between landscape and portrait pictures, which is a godsend over programs like Photoshop and Irfanview.
