JPII gets drawn (but not quartered)

Apparently there’s a new cartoon version of the life of the late pope.

Oh dear god. (sic)

I was going to ask what the Vatican’s reaction to this is… But then I checked the link. They’re the ones making it!? Maybe the Church needs a new PR firm.

Marvel Comics released a comic book biography of JP II back in 1982. An animated version should come as no surprise.

Wow.

A cartoon movie.

About the Pope.

The Roman Catholic Church is so with it and happening now, I’m sure the young 'uns will start joining up in droves.

(Please don’t interpret my post as church-bashing. It’s just so *obvious * what they are trying to do…)

You gotta know that this opens Il Papa up to getting a guest shot on Drawn Together, don’tcha?

One shudders to imagine the possibilities…

Is this it?

The cover is shown here

JPII also has his own comic book in Europe, where he is depicted as Popeman (Homopater), who fights with the Armor of God.
I thought the funniest thing about this is that the film is narrated by the Pope’s talking diary and quill pen. Talking inanimate objects…Hey, what’s the best way for the Vatican to teach the life story of John Paul II, arguably one of the most important religious figures of our time, to children? Apparently, rip off Disney.
