Jr. High kids (and teens in general) are the most worthless human beings on the Earth

And where did she learn that type of thinking? As parents/adults, we’re supposed to be the keeper of the keys to the asylum, until the little ones grow old enough to be let out. We can blame the media, the schools, and countless others, but the reality is that kids learn what we teach them, and what we don’t teach them. If I see something ugly in my little girl, it’s likely a reflection of that which I don’t wish to see in myself.

I would, and the little punk would be damn lucky if I didn’t tear him a new one over it.

A long time ago in a land far away before the PC police were formed, we were taught as big bad soldiers that we should really really work real hard to never be captured where we would be under the control of a pack of 10 - 14 year olds. They are on average and in a group, the most cruel and without a conscience group of creatures a poor wounded soldier could ever run across.

My long life and manny experiences have not abased me of that old training in any manner in any meaningful a general way. YMMV

HELLLLOOOO?!??? This is the PIT! You know, “If you gotta flame, do it here.”

It’s where the monsters of the SDMB’s collective Id live. Posters vent here because it’s a safe outlet for their negative feelings, allowing them to say the things that their normally openminded self would never dream of saying or acting upon in the real world.

Kids can be annoying little brats whereEVER one happens to go for entertainment.

Here’s an idea I have found to be effective, both in getting your money’s worth,AND in causing theatre management to “police” their patrons, so to speak.

Complain to the management of the theatre (the REAL management, not the “rotten” teens they have as “assistant managers”).

Generally when I’ve had a bad experience at the cinema, such as the one you described, management has been more than happy to provide me with free tickets, for upcoming shows,AND frequently refund the money for the current movie as well.

Also, avoid going to the movies during “prime time” (i.e., the 7pm on showings on fri-sat nights and the matinee times on weekend days), OR try going to movie theatres outside available public transport routes for teens w/out cars.

Stick to the later showings since many kids have curfew, either city, or parent enforced, and avoid the sat-sun matinees at all costs (you probably know all those already!).

(don’t know if that last one will work for YOU all,but we have a truly horrible and inconvenient public transporation system up here in AK).

Making generalizations about an entire group based on the actions of a few is WRONG.

Jesus Fucking Christ people, it’s not rocket science.

I can see how teenage girls would find it amusing to dare one of their friends to talk to an older male, but it seems a bit strange that, that was the question she chose.

I can remember being shunned by my friends for about a week, when I said that my other friend was acting ignorant/stupid/redneckian*, for saying the word gay like it was worse than calling someone the spawn of all evil. When I told her that it sounded stupid/ignorant/redneckian*, to say the word gay like that, she decided that only a Flaming* homosexual would say such a thing, and I was shunned. To make a long story short (Too late) most middle school kids are convinced that gay is a bad thing, I propose thar we get together and give them all lobotomy’s.
*I dont remember which word I used

  • I still dont remember which word I used

  • her exact words were flaming fag girl

Thank you. I have suddenly realized that as a 16 year old high school student, I am worthless.

The 200+ hours of community service I did this summer?

Worthless.

The fact that during all this community service, I was volunteering with 6-8th graders as a good role model for them?

Worthless.

All the food these kids and I packed for the homeless shelter, the homeless kids we to the Y to go swimming, all the animal cages we cleaned, all the weeds we pulled, all the trash wepicked up, and friends we made?

Worthless.

Perhaps you should volunteer with such kids. It just might change your view of us teenagers. Mind you, I am not saying that there are no worthless teenagers. Just that most of us aren’t worthless.

As a teenager, I can say that I comprehend what ‘gay’ means. I knew what it meant when I was twelve and I know now. As did most (if not all) of my friends and peers. Homophobia in people between 12 and 15 is unfortunately not as uncommon as you think.

SC_Wolf, generalizations are wrong to have, PERIOD. They shouldn’t be made in the first place. Whoever wants to voice them can voice them, but they’ll end up looking like jackasses whether they’re in the Pit or elsewhere.

Damn, I’m about to become one of the most worthless human beings. With regards to the OP, JR. High wasn’t that long ago for me either. I can honestly say that while we did (and still do) have alot of growing up to do, this type of behavior isnt typical of all teenagers. Now you can listen to what everyone is saying about how we’re the most disrespectful and all that silly stuff, but the fact is that everyone’s gone through that time of rebellion and whatnot. Not only that, you cant blame all of it on the teens themselves. Alot of it has to do with dumbass parents who have no business bringing children into this world in the first place. I’m not saying that its all the parents’ fault, but one has to consider the source. Finally, being 17 and one of those “most worthless human beings on Earth” if you ever get cancer, I’m gonna make you take back statement before I cure you.

Thanks, MIIM. Likewise, I suppose this means that singlehandedly running two groups for gay and lesbian youth and running for Parliament during my teenage years was completely useless, as was Ulterior (brother_mcl)'s taking the Canada-wide public speaking competitions and kicking ass in a further two competitions in Cyprus and Botswana.

Oh, but you meant the asshole kids. That’s exactly what you said in the title.

And I think most Posters know this. That’s why they come to the pit to get the flaming they so rightfully deserve.

As a teenager, I apologize for everything. From now on it’ll be my mission to show the kids at my school what worthless shits they are.

Point taken… sorry :o

Though, there is always the danger, what does not kill ignorance may make it stronger. Some one with a half-assed ill concieved notion may be forced to think their position out while they defend themselves from the flames.

When I read the OP I had to check RexDart’s location to see if he was in the same theater that I was in. I had a very similar experience at the same movie, with a bunch of loud, irritating, bubbleheaded girls right in front of me. They talked loudly on cell phones during the move, yelled across the theater at another group of equally moronic friends, and periodically charged en masse up the aisle to get more popcorn and candy, squealing and giggling all the way. I have to tell you, I longed for a birch rod. I’m with Rex on this one, Junior High School kids are some of the most obnoxious, useless creatures on Earth.

Of course there are exceptions, but they get drowned out by the fucktard majority.

As other have said, sweeping generalizations made about any group of people are wrong. Yeah sure there are a bunch of asshole kids, but you know what? Theres a hell of a lot of asshole adults to. Ever think about that? So, since there are a percentage of adults who are blatant incompitent morons that gives me the right to say that all adults are blatant incompitent morons! Wow.
And what if the OP was making these comments about say, black people? You would all flame him till he cried. So why is it any different when prejudices are made about certain age groups?

Maybe it’s just where I live, but the pre-teens that I talk to on a semi-daily basis are the least homophobic group I have ever known. In fact, for them, telling anyone that anything they are/do/say/think might be wrong is a cardinal sin.

Jeez, I thought this was the frickin’ Pit, not the Happy Smile Time Variety Hour. You can’t exaggerate in the Pit for effect anymore without a disclaimer or a list of exceptions to a generalization?

C’mon people. Just take a rant as a rant once and awhile, without pulling out useless and tired cliches like “all generalizations are bad.” Other than padding your post count, what did that do? Certainly nothing we haven’t read before, ad nauseum. If I can’t post a hyperbolic account of a personal experience that ticked me off without getting “Hey, hey, look at me, look at all the great stuff I do, I’m a teen, don’t blame me”, then people need to lighten up a bit.

…but since it’s the Pit, I don’t really give a crap. I can generalize all I want to if that’s my heart’s desire. Teens suck. See, I just generalized. Does that kill a pixie somewhere, or make an angel lose its wings?
