Julie Andrews version of 'Cinderella'

I have a completely anti-feminist affection for Cinderella and I have always wanted to see this version! It’s going to be on PBS tomorrow! It’s on opposite the Earthsea miniseries, but that’s cool – I’ll want to tape it (Cinderella) anyway to have it to keep forever!

Well, I thought it was sweet – although it probably didn’t live up to the years of anticipation I’ve put into it. The film itself seemed the least little bit fuzzy – although, Og knows that could be the fault of my own eyes. The music was great, but familiar from the 1965 version I grew up with. The Regency-inspired costumes, I loved. Julie Andrews looked lovely and very young – no surprise there. I was surpised, though, to see how young and cute both Alice Ghostley and Kaye Ballard looked – but then, their number ‘Stepsisters Lament’ was always my favorite.

Anybody else watch?

I caught a few minutes the other night while channel-surfing, and I stopped because the Prince looked so familiar. Two minutes of watching and “Oh, it’s a young Chief Daniels!”
