“junior modding”? Seriously?

Thor might come across as Junior Modding to Thor.

The correct response is “Thank you, sir, may I please have another.”

Loach, what I found confusing is that you responded in that thread as moderator without the usual Moderating header.

Example:
http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=20585758&postcount=84

I didn’t even see the Moderating tag when you first put the note in, but I guess that was my miss.

Never got a mug. There is some sort of double secret point system going on. This thread isn’t helping.

Then how did you get into Asgard?

ETA: And what did he say about the thunder thing?

See, now that’s moderating. Firm, imperative instructions.
:stuck_out_tongue:

It was just a mod note. And it was junior modding. Don’t tell people what they can or can’t post.

Umm…

Fair play.

This thread emphasizes just how juvenile people on the board can be when it comes to dealing with our volunteer moderators. I mean, really, folks. It’s not worthy of 30 posts worth of discussion. I seriously think some people here would argue about almost anything.

Probably including this opinion. :stuck_out_tongue:

But not so unworthy it wasn’t worth your time to let us know how you felt about it, apparently.

So was this post junior modding:

(Bolding mine.)

You know ------- as soon as I read the original thread I had a feeling this was going to end up here. A little marginal; I can see the arguments for both sides. In this case I would say it probably falls short but since there wasn’t a formal warning or anything I see it more as informational. A little more explanation in the original mod-post would have been nice.

Strictly speaking…probably. But I tend to give more leeway with the OP of a thread trying to lay out desired parameters for discussion in the first post. That being said, the OP doesn’t get to actually control the thread’s content any more than any other regular poster.

Eh, I don’t think people are complaining about moderation in this thread. I was looking for clarification of the rules, as it appears pretty much everyone else was. I think it’s a worthwhile discussion, and not juvenile at all.
