Just desserts

Anyone got any weird ideas for desserts?

Like spaghetti ice cream, for instance

Mmmmm…Chocolate Lasagna

Jalapeño jelly on Fudge Ripple ice cream.

You know, the funny thing is that “spaghetti” ice cream (vanilla ice cream put through a press, with strawberry syrup) was not uncommon when I went to Germany. I had some at the local ice cream shop.

And the ever popular dessert pizza

Kitty Litter cake

I made black bean brownies a week or so ago. Does that count?

There isn’t much wierder than using meat in desert. I have a Turkish cookbook with a Chicken based dessert, Tavukgöğsü I have not tried it, but have been told by middle eastern friends that it is very good. Here is an online recipe http://www.basakgida.com.tr/recipes.htm#%20CHICKEN%20%20DESSERT%20Special%20Turkish%20Dessert

First there’s a layer of ladyfingers, then a layer of jam, then custard, which I made from scratch, then raspberries, more ladyfingers, then beef sauteed with peas and onions, then a little more custard, and then bananas, and then I just put some whipped cream on top!

You been watching Friends reruns.

I love the way that phrase “beef, sauteed with peas and onions” works so well. Sometimes I trot it out in other random contexts.

Well that is a mainstay of British food, (though not thank Og British desserts ). Get yourself some mince n’ dumplings, it’ll put hair on your chest

Same thought that I had. I had some phenominal spaghetti ice cream in Mindelheim with the then-GF.

Last week I had Banana Tempura at a sushi place. Similar to Bananas Foster, but far better. I recommend it.

There was that episode of Iron Chef America wherein one of the dishes was trout ice cream …

My SIL the corn freak makes vanilla ice cream with brown sugar and cream corn.
