Just downloaded 2.7GB .img file, now what?

I just spent several hours download the trial version of VB.net form Microsoft. I now have a 2.7GB .img file sitting on my disk. What do I do with it to install VB.NET? The best I can figure is that it is an image of the DVD(s). Do I need to burn a series of DVDs? What do I use to do that? Can I create a virtual DVD? The instructions on MSDN are useless.

Daemon tools is good at handling images. A good burn software (Nero) handles it as well.

To burn the image directly to a CD, you will need to install 3rd party software that is capable of understanding and burning image (img or iso) files. Most popular CD burning software include support for burning images, as do popular CD burning software such as Nero 6 Ultra Edition and Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5. (or CloneCD or Isobuster)

Thanks, that did it. Cool tool.
