I’m hoping to copy a DVD disc. My friend the tech guy suggested that I make an image of the DVD, creating an .iso file that can then be copied onto a blank DVD. I have XP for my OS and I cannot find any reference inthe help guide either to creating an image or .iso files. Does anyone have any info that would help?
FTR, everything on the DVD is public domain. No copywrite issues.
If it is public domain, then I think that there should be no problems with copy protection thingies. Making image is very easy, though you have to use some special software.
I use mostly ImgBurn, but there are other application - DaemonTools or Nero comes to mind right now.
With ImgBurn its really easy - just click and forget.
Note that commercialy produced DVDs are usually double-layer, and can contian over 9 GB. You may need to recompress the video to fit it onto a single DVD+R or DVD-R disk. dvdshrink can do that for you too.
