Just got in a fenderbender.

Everybody is fine. Nobody was in the parked car that I backed into carelessly. No damage to my car. A dinged trunk in hers. Police were called, insurance and contact info exchanged. Nothing bad really.

Still, I’m horribly frazzled and I feel like a total idiot jerk. On top of that, I have to either pay a citation or take an online driving course. I could go to court and protest, but since it was clearly my fault, I dont think I’d have a leg to stand on.

Ugh, it’s been a shitty few days. (Oh, and the first person who says ‘LiveJournal’ will get donkey punched.)

When I was at Wal-Mart about a month ago I was trying to find parking. A guy on my left had his reverse lights on so I stopped. He starts backing out… Next thing I know SLAM… Dude backs out right into me on my left. If he damaged my car I would be pissed. Too much hassle. Luckily for his sake he didn’t leave a scratch. It was just funny he was a tourist Japanese guy in a rent-a-car. Such a cliche. That’s what really cracked me up so I didn’t give the guy a hard time.

As for you, damn dude. That sucks. At least you have no damage to your own car as well and no one was hurt. Let’s just hope it doesn’t effect your insurance premium too much and you get this over with quickly.

Ow, that sucks. Don’t beat yourself up too hard, though. I know how easy it is to feel like a complete clod after something like this happens – I got my very first speeding ticket ever not too long ago. It only wound up costing me $100 in court fees to get a deferral, but still, for the short period after the nice sheriff’s deputy wrote me the ticket, I felt like such a horrible person. :smack:

In the end, a minor accident is a minor accident. These things happen to everybody eventually, so keep your chin up! Before too long, you’ll be able to look back on this and laugh. Or at least chuckle.
