Just little bits of enjoyment

I usually see people rip their masks off with an expression like they’d just completed a disappointing surgery.

Best of luck that today will be completely without needing anything; enjoy!

So right. Dangly earrings that hook into the ears are not secure. Short ones with posts or, better, closed backs are best.

Apropos of removing your mask defiantly. This isn’t new; we’re just back there again.

My mask loops seem to be designed to autonomously wrap themselves around my eyeglasses’ earpieces. The other day this happened and my glasses hit the pavement. So now I have an almost microscopic scratch on one lens.

My shikseh, who is quite the chef, made buckeye brownies.

Tonight, as I do every two weeks, I shall be getting together with friends on Discord and playing Dungeons & Dragons. We’re currently playing an adventure that was published in 1976. For those in the know, we’re playing on modified Pathfinder rules. So the DM, who is a GREAT dm, had to adapt the module.

May I ask what the module is called?
(My first module was 'The Village of Hommlet - 1979.)

I don’t know. But it involves an ancient spaceship buried in a mountain. The crew is long dead. But, the place is inhabited by monsters, vegipygmies and mostly functional robots.

Tonight, after long and careful experimenation, my character figured out that the cannisters with buttons are not weapons but medicine. As a player, I think they’re cans of shaving cream.

Oh and most of the doors can only be opened by glass key cards.

It’s worse if you’re also carrying a shopping bag. A couple of times I nearly ended up looking like a Christmas tree.

I reckon that is ‘Expedition to the Barrier Peaks’ (written by Gygax himself!)

I’ve not played it myself, so no spoilers - hope you enjoy it.

 Musing…

My ears (the parts that stick out of your head – I forget the name) are having to do some heavy lifting these days, what with my hearing aids, earrings, mask, glasses, and sometimes my fitover sunglasses over my regular glasses… I think I have ear fatigue.

Pinnae. Singular is pinna.

Have you tried buying a gaiter? I picked up a couple at Walmart. They cover your mouth and nose but not your ears. You can drop it around your neck when not needed and if you wet it, it helps cool you off. Some of them are even copper-infused, if you’re into that kind of thing.

On a sunny, 75-degree day, sitting outside in my Adirondack chair with a new crossword puzzle book that isn’t so easy that I can fill it all in immediately, but just challenging enough. A diet coke and a bag of chips by my side. Oh, and all of the housework is done.
:sun_with_face: :sunglasses:

Details, please… what kind of chips?

The 30 year old bottle of Old Forester bourbon my FIL gave me tastes fantastic.
After 3 strokes and 2 major heart attacks, my BIL is moving out of assisted living.
After buying the same hydraulic jack off Amazon and having all 3 orders get misrouted and lost, I gave up and bought one from Harbor Freight. Got home yesterday afternoon and found 2 of the jacks sitting in front of my garage. I notified Amazon because they had refunded the cost of all 3 jacks. Got up this morning to a message from Amazon, keep the jacks. Apparently they don’t want to deal with 2 big boxes that weigh 85 pounds each.

Sounds like an opportunity for a new sideline: “Midnight Tire Supply.”

Guaranteed delivery first thing in the morning…

And the theme tune to advertise “Midnight Tire Supply.” would of course be:

Hit the Road Jack - YouTube

Another tale of the Greatest Grandkid Ever.

I’ve been introducing her to our (very shy) cat including telling her the cat’s name. Yesterday she said the cat’s name for the first name. Minus the first consonant, which just adds to the cuteness.

It’s the first word she’s learned from me.

Usually plain old regular potato chips - sometimes Lays, sometimes Walmart’s Great Value. I also love plain salted tortilla chips - my favorite is On the Border. Another favorite is Munchos.

Thanks for that update. My downfall is Ruffles Sour Cream & Onion chips.

Now I want a bag. Or four.

Dang it, now I’ve a craving for Old Dutch creamy chive & onion potato chips. Just yum!
