Just put the gum down, and no one will get hurt

Singapore lightens restriction on gum
“I’m sorry, sir, I’ll have to see your ID for that Juicy Fruit.”

Just think though, how much happier the world would be without people who chew their gum like a cow (and no, that doesn’t apply to all gum chewers). I’d be happy. Then again, I don’t chew, so YMMV.

‘This is a stick up!’

heh, they could have had a gum amnesty, or some sort of gum buy-back scheme.
(sorry, stole those from the radio).

Actually, this is OLD news, they changed the regulation as part of the FTA with the US. But the gum is only ‘medicinal’ gum (which apparently means niotine replacement gums and such). So no Juicy Fruits or Hubba Bubba for the time being.

The REAL news is the relaxation on Video and DVD censorship, that’s due to begin next month! Woohoo!

As I said to a colleague only this morning, it now means I can ask (over the counter, with ID) ‘I’d like the version with the titties in it, please!’
