JUST SHOOT ME NOW!!!

I woke up this morning with that song from the Wizard of Oz that goes “Ha ha ha ho ho ho something something something, in the merry old land of Oz” playing over and over and over in my head. It won’t stop.

WTF? Where did that come from??? Did I have a dream about the Wizard of Oz?

As if that wasn’t annoying enough, I don’t know the words between “ha ha ha ho ho ho” and “in the merry old land of Oz” so the singing voice in my head sings “do do do doooo do”.

And so your solution is to get this running thought EVERYONE’s head? Thanks…

:: note to self – send Diane an MP3 of “It’s a Small World” ::

“Ha ha ha, ho ho ho, and a couple of la-di-das. That’s how we while the day away in the merry old land of Oz.
We get up at noon and go to lunch at one. Take an hour lunch, and then our day is done. Jolly old fun.”
Or something like that…

Ha Ha Ha hoo hoo hoo and a couple of tra la las?

That’s how we pass the day away in the merry old land of Oz.

At least, that’s the way I’ve been singing it all those years. Of course, I’m the girl who recently found out that it’s not Mr. Tangerine Man and Papa didn’t get a brand new van.

In any case, it’s during the part where they’re getting the makeovers.

(BTW, Diane, my evil plan is working! Thanks for the help.)

I think this song is from when Dorothy, The Tin Man, and The Cowardly Lion get to Emerald City and they go to some kind of Beauty Parlour. The attendants sing the song, and give everybody a full beauty treatment.
No, I’m not making it up.

Oh Ho Ho, Oh Ha Ha! And a couple of Tra La La’s, that’s how we spend the day away, in the merry old land of Oz.

Or something like that.

Dammit! now it’s going thru my head…
grr.

BANG!

What? It isn’t Tangerine Man?

(Tator, I am glad to hear your evil plan is working. Keep me informed. If Dopers only knew how evil you really are behind your sweet posts.)

Okay, first it’s a bunch of sex threads, now this?!

Of course, I’ve had the stupid song, “She’s got the urge to Herbal” running in my head so now I can replace it with this. Oh the whole, I like your song better.

Were you in Kansas last night Diane? Stupid damn song, now I’m singing it, are ya happy now?

“Oompa Loompa doompadee doo
I’ve got another riddle for you
Oompa Loompa doompadah dee
If you are wise you’ll listen to me…”

Little orange bastards!

You can find all the lyrics here:

Bastard!! It’ll never get out now!

I guess songs from the Wizard of Oz running through your head are better than Brittany Spears continously singing the same old song over and over and over.

Course, I did find that the song from the '70s call 'They’re coming to take me away" works in dispelling just about any other song from my head.

…and since it’s so long, it’ll stay in my head for weeks…

Check it out for yourself here. (Mwah ha ha ha!)

That song gave me serious nightmares when I was a kid. Even now it give me the creepy-crawlies whenever I have the misfortune to hear it. :::shiver:::

Usually I can get rid of annoying songs in my head if I start singing (silently of course) the “Rodeo Song”. So far, it hasn’t worked yet.

“Ha ha ha, ho ho ho. . . .”

I have found that singing “Mary had a little lamb” outloud rids me of my head’s music. Seriously it works. Someone in college mentioned this to me, and I think it has worked every time I needed to get a song out of my head
