I admit that I have been around very little over the past year, and in fact only really check things out here once every few weeks, but not buying in for another year never really occured to me.
I’ve made too many friends here and can too easily rely on world news, intelligent commentary and even smart folks to answer a quick question to just forget about it.
Seems I’ve missed a lot in the past few weeks.
Cecil once printed a letter from Don McClean re: what his American Pie lyrics meant. He says he’s always let folks draw their own conclusions, and he maintains a dignified silence.
I think dignified silence is awesome. Don’t make excuses, don’t engage in drama, just go.
I always thought dignified silence was the best answer to trolls, attention whores, and drama queens. Too bad that’s never the case.
Lord Ashtar’s purpose in making the “I don’t give a fuck” post is to show the above that they won’t have a willing audience for their pity party. For every “oh please, don’t go” there’s a “don’t let the door hit ya on the ass on the way out” and a “fuck you and the horse you rode in on too.”
