Unfortunately, you may have to wait over a decade for that. I think our best hope is that other directors do a better job with the source material.
I couldn’t remember if that had…thanks.
Jeez, did you write the movie? Do you know the director? Defensive much?
I thought the villains plot was distinctly NOT “refreshingly simple”. It was simple because it was an easy revenge plot, but the execution of it relied on luck and circumstance rather than careful manipulation and genius.
The final fight motivations were entirely coincidental because IM had a great reason to be fighting Cap, but Cap’s violence towards IM was a step further than “I’m defending myself” and “I’m defending my friend.”
Also Caps motivations are extremely far-reaching. For a military man he’s quite willing to sacrifice the many for his one guy
I don’t have to be defensive to disagree with someone.
No, his plan was to manipulate Iron Man into hunting for Bucky, knowing Cap would side with his old friend. He made it obvious that he was going to Siberia, knowing that eventually Cap, Bucky and Tony would all be in Siberia together. If Iron Man hadn’t come immediately, he would have come eventually. Dramatically, it was handier for them to come together immediately, but it wasn’t key to his plan. He was secure behind his blast shield, he could have waited for days.
Once Tony made it clear he was going to kill Bucky and wouldn’t talk about it, Steve did what he had to do, and even then he stopped short of killing Tony.
That one guy is the only thing left from his former life, now that Peggy’s dead.
