So, the hubby brings home a small space heater tonight as a supplement to the central heat. Just to use on those really cold nights (our house is old and drafty). I start to unbox the heater, and for crying out loud he got one with a remote. How many remotes does a man need? We have remotes laying everywhere. We didn’t need to add to that mess, but he did. Oh well at least were staying warm:cool:. I still can’t believe it, the heater has a remote.
So you don’t have to physically get up and kick the ashes? You do it electromagnetically now?
My fan has a remote.
That. Is. So. Cool! I want!
You might all appreciate this Onion article.
Man checking in here.
Not one remote.
Not one.
I’m also not so insecure that I will not ask directions.
Also a man.
Also no remotes.
And I have no need for a new space heater, because I still have the one that my parents bought in the early eighties, which they later passed on to me. There’s nothing better than a hardy, durable electric appliance.
I had seven remotes in my living room til I bought this.
Now I need more things to control. I’d already planned to get some controllable light switches, but the heater and fan are great ideas!
Yes there is… the same appliance with a remote.
Imagine not having to get out from under the covers to turn it on. A remote is PERFECT for a space heater.
Both of my roomies have remotes for their car stereo’s.
I am sooo jealous.
Remotes for your car stereo…now that’s just weird. I mean, you’re sitting within arm’s length of it, aren’t you?
Actually I had a remote for my cd changer in my car and it was very helpful! The changer only had a small faceplate with no controls and the remote was so intuitive that I could easily go from track to track, change settings, etc. while NEVER taking my eyes off the road. I wish I had a radio that was as easy to use.
I have a remote for my Bose Waveradio CD player. It is also my alarm clock and the snooze is on the remote so when it goes off in the morning all I have to do is reach over to where the remote is (same spot always) and get another ten minutes of snoozin’ without any bothersome getting out of the bed.
I don’t have any remotes. Well not since I had kids… ** “Go change the channel!” **
With apologies to the Rolling Stones…
He can’t be a man
'cause he doesn’t remote
the same remotes as me.
My in-dash CD player also came with a remote. Pretty silly, IMO. However, for a shorter person in a larger vehicle, I could see how it would be easier and safer than leaning forward to use the controls on the faceplate. My remote sits in a side pocket collecting dust.
Man, that would be great. I could turn down the heat without even waking up!
When I first saw he had bought a heater with a remote, I had this sudden urge to kick his ash for being so dern lazy. He claims he didn’t know that it had a remote. Yeah right! But now I must eat my words. Thanks to,** Boscibo** and his remote controlled fan. I have found something I want. You see we have a box fan on top of the fridge to circulate air. Well I am short, and it is a pain in the butt to reach up there and grab the fan down and adjust the setting thus making a remote controlled fan very nice for shorty here. Now I must eat my words, because I want one too!
yojimboguy, I’ve got the same remote. It is incredible! Can turn the tv, stereo, and satellite receiver on to TechTV all with the touch of one button!
Our air conditioner has a remote control. We will be setting up the universal remote to turn the AC off and on this coming summer. Hallelujah for technology!
